Dj knew he had a lot of work to do before he could go and take his God trial. He also knew that he had a lot of weaknesses that would end up biting him in the ass if left unchecked.
Normally his powers as an illusionist made his weaknesses much harder to exploit. They were a crutch, and he needed to work on making them a tool. So, the best place to start was addressing where he used them.
First of these was to avoid having to fight. Avoiding dangerous situations was easy with tons of clones and invisibility around. Today, he had something different in mind.
He would go onto the rooftop of an abandoned building, hoping to find some privacy. He had his hair tied out of his face and he made sure to dress in a way that wouldn't restrict his movements.
He would reach out his hand, focusing intensely on the air in front of him. He would try and flood his mind with the concept of a weapon. Then, with a step back and a sharp pull from his extended arm, a weapon appeared.
A large golden ring blade with Hieroglyphs inscribed onto it. It glowed with his tanzanite energy which condensed to form serrated blade edges on the weapon. It looked heavy, but as Dj tried swinging it around, it felt light as a feather.
He would at first seem excited! Wow, he had actually created...
Wait a minute what the fuck kind of weapon was this thing?
It looked more like a ring he would use for ariel dance than an actual functioning weapon. In fact he, the only reason he considered it a weapon was the energy blades on the outside.
He would try swinging it around more, trying (and failing) to find some kind of rhythm with the unwieldy weapon. Every time he would swing it, a bright glow of energy would come from the roof, making this training session a lot less private than Dj had intended.

Leif was wandering the city, aimlessly, just like she had most cities in her home world. Abandoned buildings always called to her... always had a story to tell. She hadn't planned on being around people that night, but somehow...
She stood at the entrance of the roof, watching as the stranger focused and the weapon appeared. She leaned back against the wall, her hands tucked into the pockets of her jacket.
"Nice choice," she called out as she watched him practice, tilting her head slightly to one side. "Lots of versatility."

When he heard someone speak he quickly jumped. He turned to the person who spoke and quickly decided she wasn't a threat right now.
He would sigh and say. "Well at least you think so. I've never fought with a weapon in my life, so I thought I had accidently made a bladed dancing hoop."
He would say before making a few more awkward swings. Clearly not getting how it is supposed to be used.

"A weapon like that gives you a lot of utility to work with. If you're agile enough to use it, you have a weapon that won't ever get stuck. Its all about movement... Consistent, regular, flowing movement."
Leif pushed herself off of the wall and began to walk over, hands still tucked in her pockets.
"I assume you're a dancer of some kind?"

This stranger seemed harmless for now. They also seemed to know a lot about weapons, which meant there was a lot to gain from the conversation.
So he would oblige her question. "Yes, I have been a dancer my whole life." Perhaps she could educate him a bit more.

"You know how your more complicated, flashy moves take consistent momentum? Like how a gymnast takes a run before they tumble, and they don't stop moving until the routine is complete. Think of the weapon like that."
Leif leaned back to look at the circular blade, her startling blue eyes shining slightly.

Dj would listen intently, taking the note to heart. He would swing the blade again, this time a bit different. He moved his arm out like a ballet dancer would for a spin and the blade gracefully spun around his upper arm and landed in his hand.
He would then move his hand up and down slightly, causing the blade to spin in a circle. He would step and alter the direction of the spinning attacks. At the end he would take a spin that would have caused the weapon to slice off his arm.
However, it didn't. It phased through, and caught around his upper torso, spinning around him like a hula hoop to block while his back was turned in the spin. His arms in the traditional form for a ballet spin as the blade spiraled around them, the energy not cutting him.
Finally he would stop and throw his hands out, catching the blade with his extended hands. Still no signs of cutting him. He would hold the ring from the inside, his hands pressed against the inner blades, body tilted sideways.
It wasn't combat ready, but he seemed to understand the fundamental use of the weapon now.

Leif tilted her head as she watched him, taking careful note of each of his steps and the way his weapon responded to him. She hummed softly as she watched it phase through him.
The fact that his weapon didn't hurt him wasn't quite a surprise to her, as her own did not affect her, either... But the phasing was interesting.
"Do that thing again, where it slipped through your body." Her words were spoken softly, curiously, and not unkindly... but there was no room for argument. She stepped up a big closer to try and see if she could tell why it did what it did.

Dj was no stranger to commands. His whole life had been sharp orders meant to be followed.
If Leif asked him to do it again, he wouldn't have known how. Though the second the command was given, his instincts kicked in. He phased the ring through his body, adapting a more offensive stance without needing to lift the ring over his head.
His eyes were forward. He was totally silent and totally still. No uncertainty, no hesitation, just waiting for a criticism or a command.

Leif caught sight of his body, the way he held himself, and she gave a slight shake of her head. She recognized that... all too well.
"Where are you from?" She asked, trying to soften her tone slightly.

"The Egyptian district of the old world." He would say simply, posture unwavering.
If she wanted to know more, she'd ask. If not, it was the time for the next command.

"What were you trained for?"
She didn't know of any Egyptian territory in Cabal, despite the almost eerie similarity between the behaviors. She gave a slight shake of her head and began to walk in a slow circle around the stranger, mostly attempting to properly identify his posturing.

"Dancer." He would say with the same calm demeanor as before.
It was also evident in his posture. His stance was absurdly graceful, augmented by his natural beauty. Then furthering it he also had his feet on point. His steel like focus combined with how fluid his movements were before, this was clearly not just a dancer, but a master of his craft.

"Hmm."
Leif nodded, contemplating the implications of such an intense training. She knew soldiers who maintained their posture with less poise.
"At ease," she murmured, not entirely sure if the phrase would work. It was, after all, a military phrase. At least she managed to refrain from adding "soldier" to the end of it.

At the phrase Dj would immediately take a resting stance. Heels back on the ground. He would look over to her curiously with a playful smile.
"Not quite used to military commands." He'd say with a chuckle.
