It's Terror Time Again (Cain)

[Lucifer]

"You're welcome. Try not to strain yourself for the next week or so. Your body is healed, but it will be weak as it recovers from the healing."

She didn't say anything when he identified Chaos as a Titan, he was correct. And generally nothing good came from dealing with Titans.

Dion was there to offer Cain a hand though!

"How you feeling bud?"

[Cain Rhamos]

"I'll try."

He nods, before taking Dion's hand. He's happy to get up.

"I feel... weird. Like, I'm healed-ish, obviously, but there's something wrong inside."

Cain points at his chest.

"Like not physically."

[Lucifer]

Dion would give him a knowing nod.

"You too?"

He'd guide Cain out of the tent before speaking.

"I feel like part of myself was ripped out by that thing. And now I can't...."

He just finished with a sigh.

[Cain Rhamos]

Cain follows, frowning.

"You can't use your power at all?"

He looks actually concerned.

"But I can still use mine."

[Lucifer]

"The fates have spared you it would seem."

He gave Cain a smile, though there was no real joy there. It was forced, but present for solidarity.

[Cain Rhamos]

"I don't understand."

He really doesn't.

"I killed that thing, it shouldn't still be draining you."

[Lucifer]

"I don't think it is..."

[Cain Rhamos]

"....so then how do we get it back?"

This couldn't be right. He came here to save the Gods and his home, but... now it looked like he hadn't really changed anything.

[Lucifer]

"I dunno. I don't know if it can come back. The Fates might know, maybe. And that's assuming we can even find them. The entrance of their cave either exists or doesn't depending on if you are supposed to meet them."

[Cain Rhamos]

Cain lets out a slow breath.

"...alright. Well... what should we do now?"

Even drained as he was, Dionysus was the senior God, here.

[Lucifer]

He'd point back to the Mountain, now side by side with a twin. A massive chain piercing both mountains and holding them together.

"We should scale the mountain and see the damage to our domain. We need a complete picture."

He straightened his back, trying to project all of the normal nonchalant confidence he was known for, but it was rough through the exhaustion and everything else. "And if you stumble do not fret, I'll catch you if you fall Deimos."

[Cain Rhamos]

"A complete picture."

Cain nods, then smiles a little. He glances over his shoulder at Dionysus, chuckling.

"Same goes for you. You can rest easy now that I'm here."

[Lucifer]

He chuckled and spread out his arms, lifting his empty chalice.

"Resting easy is what I do best."

[Cain Rhamos]

"Sounds like all that practice is paying off."

Cain snorts, before starting to walk towards the mountain.

"Alright. Let's get started."

[Lucifer]

Dion would simply wink at Cain as they made their way up the damaged mountain. It seemed that the attack was over at this point and the mountain allowed them quick access to it's summit both having been chosen as worthy. Atop the summit would be the golden thrones of the leading Gods all vacant and many would be for some time now with the slaughter that had just played out.

Dion trembled slightly as he made his way to the center of the summit. Closing his eyes in silent prayer for the fallen. So much knowledge and good extinguished, and for what? He was not the best among them, he did not know what hand of fate had conspired to see his life spared when the leadership of the others would have done more good for the people that would be suffering below.
