Learning Curve (Open)

[Avalon Salabim]

"It could be both, as well," Avalon offered. It was hard to say when she didn't know Leif for more than a few minutes. "It's a different life for everyone, in some way." She reached a hand up to adjust the side of her glasses, considering.

"I would suggest having something on hand if you think you'll be in a situation where you'll need to be more active than you have been."

[Leif Adamson]

Leif nodded. It was an interesting concept. She hadn't spent much time utilizing her Qi in this world and had yet to learn of the negative side effects of it on a personal level. She glanced over at Avalon, offering her a little half smile.

"Alright. Here we are." She nodded up at the doors to the bakery and cafe, "Prota" proclaimed in large letters. "As long as there aren't any other guests in here, you shouldn't have to worry about watching what you say as much."

Pushing open the door, she called out, "Nova? Daniel? Are you here?"

[Novocaine]

"Over here!" Nova would call out, sitting at a table on the opposite side of Daniel. It looked like they'd been in the middle of discussing something.

Daniel gives a wave, simultaneously sipping from a beer he has on the table!

They really did their pride on their sleeve. Or maybe it was just that they felt safe with it in this world. Avalon took in the sign, pausing a moment before entering the restaurant. Hopefully there wouldn't be many people inside.

Thankfully, there weren't any customers on hand. Her gaze swept over the two at the table, noting the man drinking on the job and the woman with physical augmentation. It was about what she expected of those from Protans, from what she knew of them without having met any, herself. Other than the day drinking.

"Good afternoon." She nodded in greeting.

[Leif Adamson]

Leif wandered in, glancing over her shoulder at Avalon.

"Hey. I brought somebody with me. She said she was looking for a nice place to study and relax. Did we interrupt?"

[Novocaine]

"Not at all. We were taking a break." Nova would say before glancing at the girl Leif had brought.

"Hey. Make yourself at home."

[Gunslinger]

"That's completely fine."

Daniel nods in response.

"Have a seat. Did you want anything in the meantime?"

[Avalon Salabim]

"Thank you." The words were for Leif as well as the welcome. "Tea would be lovely. Earl Gray, please. And whatever M-Leif would like."

[Leif Adamson]

Leif gave a shake of her head. "Just my usual water, please."

She motioned for Avalon to join her at one of the tables, even going as far as to pull the chair out for the girl. She waited until she was seated to move around and take a seat for herself.

"So, this is Prota. They have an amazing selection, here. Great food. Daniel does most of the cooking, and Nova does a lot of the baking. They make an excellent team."

[Novocaine]

Nova looks at Daniel.

Like she expects him to deal with this. He offered.

She's on break.

[Gunslinger]

Oh.

Ohhhh.

Daniel winks at Nova, sliding his beer over before heading towards the kitchen to get the tea and water.

"Thank you." Avalon joined Leif at the table with a small nod, setting her bag down next to her chair as she took the offered seat. Taking another look around while the other girl settled in, she found she liked the colors and quiet atmosphere, however long that would last.

"Is there anything you'd recommend?" she asked tentatively, directing the question at both of them but reluctant to disturb Nova while she was on her break.

"Well, sure. I can suggest a couple of vegetarian options, and I'm pretty sure you can add meat to them, if you like.. The curry is amazing, and Daniel says its just as good with chicken. The Goddess Bowl is another delicious choice."

Leif smiled at the girl, seeming to relax a bit more once in a familiar environment.

[Novocaine]

Looked like Leif had that well in hand. Nova, however, didn't mind throwing out options.

"If sweets are more your thing, we have all manner of those too. Might even have something reminiscent of home."
