At least it seemed obvious in a good way. Avalon didn't sense any malice or aggression from Leif's tone, but the words reminded her of something someone once said in warning. She was glad to see she was right.
"I see." She smiled and sipped at her tea again, setting it down in without a sound. "You mentioned you traveled before we ended up here. What was your favorite place?"

"To be honest... my favorite places were in between. The gatherings of nomads." Leif couldn't help but smile softly, spinning her glass of water between her hands. "I liked listening to their stories. You couldn't really tell which ones were real and which ones were exaggerated, but they were always so happy to tell them, either way."

Being out on the road, living where need dictated, finding stories to pass on reminded Avalon of how traditions used to be passed on. She could only imagine the reasons some of them remained nomads amidst the dangers in the world. Then again, she'd never been the adventurous sort.
