Suddenly there is a door in a near by building that opens with a loud bang! Sounding like someone was thrown through it, but all that seems to come out is some mist...

Marin's eyes widen in surprise and she turns towards the door to see if people were fighting again.
But no. It's just...mist?
"Ooh, does some bastard have a big cannon in there?!" she'd ask herself, hopping up from her squat as she very safety-consciously ran towards the door.
Nothing's killed her yet. Not even mystery snow.

Doesn't seem like there is a canon in the door! Just a bit more mist seeping out... It's pretty dark inside though.

No response, but the mist and the wind begin to suck her in! It's trying to draw her to a light inside!

Marin's first instinct is to pull back, but, when she sees the light she doesn't feel nearly as nervous.
She considers that she might be getting further and further away from ever getting home but at this point it probably doesn't matter. She just hops up and lets the mist-wind combo take her away.

It does! once the light covers her form in blinding brightness she wakes up under a tree with a few branches, but no leaves... It also seems to have a feint glow? It sits in the center of some stone circle with stone walls. There is one walkway up and out of the area leading to a village. The ocean breeze to one side and huge stone walls to every other side.
There are people at the base of the tree on the other side seemingly praying.

She blinks up at the tree at first, not sure she's ever seen a glowing one before. Not without it being on fire.
Marin would give a quick scan of her surroundings, considering going to the village but pausing when she noted there were people RIGHT THERE.
Completely disregarding the silence that comes with prayer, she'd walk around the tree and yells.
"Hey, assholes! Is this a God Tree? Why is it like that?"

They are thoroughly startled and fall back. A few run off as one tries to help the oldest of them back to his feet.
"Who are you child, how have you survived the mist?"

She says, her attention momentarily caught by the people running. That didn't usually happen until she actually did something. It almost hurt her feelings.
"Huh? The mist made me come here. Was I supposed to die?"

The people seem very put off by her explanation so the Elder responds.
"This is our sacred tree. Legends passed down in our village speak that it is the only thing keeping the mist at bay."
