Misty Trails (Marin)

[Marin]

Marin takes in the cheers grinning widely!

She’d look at the old man and shrug before the answer was given to her in her mind.

“Oh. She said she’s an alpha so she doesn’t give a shit about the mist.”

Paraphrasing.

[Zack Asiv]

The old man is not accustomed to anyone using language like her, let alone a child. Though he looked passed it and thought pretty hard on something.

"I have lived in this village and on this earth for ninety-three years and even before the mist came, Symbiotes were a common part of our lives. Thanks to their discovery by a young scientist who spread them through the world, I have never once heard of an Alpha..."

[Marin]

"What happened to the ones from your village?" she'd tilt her head. If they were so common, other people had to have one? Why couldn't they stomp the mist or the zombies?

[Zack Asiv]

The old man nods at her question.

"I'm now sure you are not of our world... I was too young to have one, but when the mist came those who wore them changed into those things with white hair. They were driven insane and attacked all like animals. Only by not joining with a symbiote have we survived behind these walls."

At that time there was yelling.

"People! People beyond the walls!"

They all would be able to hear the huge front gate opening.

[Marin]

“Sounds like they were too dumb to stay in control.”

Strength of mind means smart, right?

She’s blink at the yelling, keeping her attention on the old man.
“Is that good? I can set them on fire if they’re a problem!” She’d grin.

[Zack Asiv]

The old man seemed disturbed by her... Willingness to set fires. Lisk is amused with a bit of a giggle. However the old man would nod.

"This is good."

More cheers as people seemed to be gathering. It was obvious many of them had been controlled by the mist for many years and some seemed to have been more recent that people in the village recognized them. All of them had symbiotes on them somewhere.

[Marin]

“Alright.”

If that changed the offer still stood.

Marin would wander over to the people, getting closer than necessary as she peeked around for the symbiotes.

“Hey, hey. You can beat every one of these guys, right?” She’d ask Lisk. Because it was definitely a competition.

[Zack Asiv]

Marin would spot every person who entered the village was wearing symbiotes that had many different forms. weapons attached to arms that shrank down like wrist blades, armor pieces or sets that protected or enhanced them, visors or glasses that seemed to do other things, even a few that seemed to be cannons.

Lisk would chuckle.

"I could not, not without you to help me. But, yes I grant more power than these."

[Marin]

Marin was almost disappointed until she explained further.

"Fuck yeah." she'd grin to herself before looking around.

"Where even am I? Is this another planet or something?"

[Zack Asiv]

"From what I can tell of your memories this is... The same place you were, except an alternate version of it. I'm not a hundred percent sure how to get you home."

At that moment a guy would approach. Seemed way more aware or focused than everyone else.

"Excuse me, you got rid of the mist and revived the Tree, how?"

[Marin]

"The same?" she'd blink. Nothing here looked the same at all.

Oh well! Not her first rodeo! She'd get back somehow.

Her attention would then be grabbed by that hot dude showing off his chest, and she'd put her hands on her hips proudly.

"By being powerful! Oh and Lisk did everything, but, she totally needed me so it's mostly thanks to me."

She'd raise her arm to show him the bracelet.

[Zack Asiv]

"A symbiote helped revive the tree?"

He seemed completely at a loss from that revelation, as he would walk over to touch the tree. Lisk would speak into Marin's mind again.

"He is not a villager, or hunter... He isn't wearing a symbiote either."

The guy would turn to look at Marin again.

"Then is that the key?" He seemed to be asking himself as much as Marin and Lisk. Lisk would respond to Marin as well.

"That is the second time I've heard an Alpha being referred to as a key."

[Marin]

"Hey, Lisk wants to know why you're calling her a key. You're not the first person to say it." Marin would happily ask out loud. She's kinda curious too.

She'd ask about where he's from after.

[Zack Asiv]

"It's more a turn of phrase... My name is Aeger Xander. I'm not from this world. I was in a country called Aurora when a massive castle fell from the sky. I used my ability to jump into a pocket dimension to avoid death when I was dropped here in this world. First thing I did was try to jump into the dimension again, but all it did was have me watch events here until I came out for food or water."

He though for a few moments.

"I think whatever power that symbiote has could possibly be used to rip a hole in my pocket dimension to get me home."

[Marin]

"Whoaahohoho a CASTLE FELL FROM THE SKY?!" she'd ask with wide eyes, trying to imagine it. Somehow that seemed familiar?

She shakes her head, trying to refocus.

"Well I'm not from here either. If Lisk can shove your ass back home, then I want her to do that for me too!"

She already saved the world here, right? Should be safe for her to get back.
