"Don't worry about it. I can't say I'm surprised. You never did really accept much more help than you needed. It's really kinda comforting to know that that hasn't changed." He said giving a genuine smile as he walked over sitting at the foot of the bed.
"However I accept the apology. it's not like the way I remembered you but it's nice all the same. The changes I've seen are nice. But you atill are enough like I remember to make me have that feeling of actually having you around again." He said and then his smile faded. he didn't look unhappy just thoughtful. "Pardon a drop of the normal detachment I seem to have. But I really missed you. You were the only good thing the came into my life since I met you besides Lene." He said.

"You deserve to smile more..." She said in an almost absent minded tone, she really didn't like Jyo's normal detacthment from the world, it just seemed too cold for Jyo and as such it was nice the rare times when he would apologize and drop the detatchment for only the smallest of moments.
They'd both been through alot, and Jyo had been through alot more then she had that was fore sure but he deserved to be happy just like any other person did, they both did.
"I missed you too Jyo-kun.."

Jyo gave a small shrug at the comment she made about smiling. But his face brightened a bit knowing she missed him as well. He was silent for a little while just enjoying the company of a friend. Something he hadn't done in a long time. He gave her a small smile and stood up. "Well I'll leave you to rest. I've got a few things I need to study up for. Is there anything I can get you before I get absorbed in my books?" He asked.

"No thank you." Her voice was soft as her arm had moved away from her eyes just enough to catch a glimpse of Jyo's smile, this caused her to give a small giggle as she shifted and winced in pain once more. The cold feeling against her skin was actually pretty weird and almost a little bit tingly as her head rested back on the pillows her hand slipping away from her eyes completely.
"Mm..Thank you." Whether he'd have any idea what she was thinking him for she didn't really know, before he had left completely her head had suddenly shot up in the bed causing her to give what was a mix between a whimper from the sudden pain and a giggle "Well...actually...could you get me a glass of water..?"

"Your welcome." He said not exactly sure what she referred tp but he meant it anyways. He was leaving when she sat up making an odd sound. He looked back as she asked for some water and he nodded. "Yeah not a problem." He said and went out to grab the water.
He returned soon with the glass. he was put a few ice-cubes in as well making sure it was cold and walked over handing her the water. "Here." He said still keeping the faint smil he had before he left.

A slight smile crept across her lips as she had pulled her self into a sitting position, at least she wasn't entirely different from Jyo's memories even if they did seem to hold her in a higher light then she deserved, her eyes gazed down into the cup of water as her teeth sunk into her bottom lip.
Life was all too confusing for the girl as she let out another moan of pain, her eyes had focused into the glass becoming almost completely lost inside of the fluid. But it didn't last long, her thirst soon over-powered her urge to contemplate her life through the reflection in the water and thus she kicked the entire glass back, setting the now empty container to the side.
It was refreshing, but something was odd the familiar burning sensation over took her eyes as the salty liquid stung her, quietly the tear drops rolled down her cheeks. Why had she been crying? She wasn't even really sure her self, but found she had really no control over the action as she fell back into a laying position the hot droplets of salty liquid continued to stream from her face.
The silence is what got to her, she made absolutely no noise through the entire ordeal...though it wasn't the first time that she had cried without being heard or without making noise, she felt as if she wanted to scream but her voice it's self had left her..why the hell was she crying...?
She didn't know, as the few sniffles finally left her quiet and motionless body as the small rivers of tears had begun to slow down.....She was sad for some reason, and she wasn't entirely sure why as her eyes slowly closed.

Jyo had said goodnight and had goteen to the door before he hear her start to cry. Most wouldn't have picked it up but his hearing was a trait that was ecellent. He stopped for a moment then turned slowly looking over at her. Not one to leaver he like that he reached the bed when she had laid back down and knelt there putting a hand on her shoulder.
"What is it?' He asked with a hint of concern in his voice. He was't planning on leaving her like this. they had both been through a lot of pain so he wasn't going to be shocked to hear just about anything. But this didn't seem like Kasumi. She had changed a little more than he thought in some ways.

Curse words in Japanese was what ran through her head when Jyo had picked up on her crying, though the tears had abruptly come to a halt as her eyes attempted to look off to the side the feeling of his hand upon her shoulder cause a series of goosebumps to develope across her skin, she wasn't sure exactly why but it probably had something to do with the warmth of his hand and the cold of the icepack she currently had pressed to her torso.
Or maybe other forces were at work, who the hell knew, she certainally had no idea why she had started crying which left the two of them in an awkward position with Kasumi avoiding looking Jyo directly in the eyes and the red-head kneeling beside the bed.
He'd been so nice to her and allowed her to stay in his home and so far the must she'd done is make him worry and treated him coldly from time to time, times like now and earlier when he had offered her help.
Hell, what was wrong inside of the little 18 year old mind of hers? Why suddenly had things that weren't important become so important to her? Why had the important things become less so important?? It was almost as if her life had been flipped upside down, pulled out from beneath her.
Finally, she heaved a sigh and spoke "It's...Nothing really...I don't know....."

Jyo was silent until she spoke. he was wondering what had gone on hre. She was shifting back and forth. She had gone through worse things than he had in ways. It wasn't too much of a surprise to see her shifting emotionally. But he wanted to make sure she was okay. He might have a bit of emotional detachment. Or a lot. But one thing tat never left him from his time as captain was the protectivness he felt towards some people. Particularly those like Lene and Kasumi.
When she spoke he nodded. Unlike some people he had the feeling Kasumi was being honest about this. From what he recalled she made it clear as to how she felt about things and he didn't think that had changed. "Do you want some company until you fall asleep? I noticed you were fine when I was here. My studies can wait until then." He said softly.

"I don't want to be a burden.." She spoke truthfully, though having Jyo around until she fell asleep would be nice she didn't want to cause more of a fuss then was needed, so she had started crying for no real reason. It wasn't a reason for her to keep people from their own activities, and she wasn't about to ask Jyo to sit in there with her like she was some child who had seen something moving in the closet.
Her eyes had closed slowly, her entire body felt weighed downas the familiar stirring in the pit of her stomach and up into her chest started again, she'd be damned if she'd cry again however as her head tossed to one side her eyes slowly opened again this time staring right at the wall.
Confusion, that's all that went through her mind as one of her hands had risen up slowly placing it ontop of Jyo's, though she hadn't actually spoken it she knew that with his hearing she'd might as well have screamed it out, the quietest of whispers leaving her lips "Please..." It was a contradiction to her previous statement and thoughts, she knew that much, but for some reason it seemed that she did not want to be left alone..

Jyo gave a shirt pleasent laugh at her comment. "Kasumi you will never be a burden to me." he said with a smile much wider than normal. Through it all there was that trace of healthy independance he had become accustomed to. He was glad to still see it though in a more polite manner than he remembered.
He looked down seeing her hand on his and his other hand came to rest ontop of it. "Don't worry. I'll be right here the whole time. I left you once. I'm not doing it again. Even for something like this." he said softly and the pleasent look actually extended to his eyes. they were much like they had been earlier when she had been in his arms. Mabey what Jyo needed was a pleasent part of his past to open up and start feeling human again.

As she lay there her head had lolled to the other side now, staring down at Jyo through her blue eyes a small smile was on her face now as those blue eyes of hers half closed, part of her wanted to fall asleep and the other part wanted to stay awake.
Her breathing however slowly became more and more shallow as her vision began to lose it's focus, her fingers running along the top of his hand slowly while his other hand remained ontop of hers, another tear drop had found it's way out of the corner of her eye as he head sunk completely into the pillow again, both of her eyes closed once more "Arigato..." She whispered out, not once but rather several times, it seemed like thanking him over and over again in a small whisper was all that Kasumi could do as the comfortable situation had begun to take ahold of her.

Jyo nodded at her thanks. He could hear each one and knew for Kasumi to be openly grateful this meant alot to her. Jyo had been glad to be able to do something like this for her. he doubted he would ever shake the feeling of guilt for running away like he had. In his mind it had been a cowardly thing to do. But seeing the only person who really meant anything to him having of gotten away from there. Things seemed better.
He noticed another tear form and almost without realy noticing one swift hand reached over and one of his thin fingers brushed it off gently before his hand went back to hers. He would kneel there and wait until he was sure she was alseep before leaving. he hoped the change fo pressure on her hand and the lack of his presence wouldn't make her wake up when he left. He knew some people were like that. He hoped she wasn't, He'd hate to wake her up when she had fallen asleep and seemed more peacfule than any time he had seen her today.

She'd eventually fallen into the deep and peaceful sleep, her one arm keeping the ice-pack to the sore spot on her body. Sometime during her slumber she had noticed Jyo leave as the feeling of his hands upon hers had disappeared.
The only real reaction pulled from his leaving was the slight curling up of Kasumi as her now free hand moved under the pillows just beneath her head, and with that Kasumi didn't seem likely to wake up for the rest of the night.

As Jyo had left helooked back once a smiled. "Goodnight my friend." He said softly as he shut off the light and closed her door. he made sure Lene was in bed then stayed up for a while to study. Jyo was one to stay up late and get up early. he was actually going to head out and train a bit more after he was done with the books.
Which he went and did. This time being alone he had gotten rid of the shirt and his shoes and socks. He peferred wearing less when he fought. He simply didn't like Lene questionong the scars that crisscrossed his entire upper-body when she was out talking with him during his training. His battles with Rastal were not ones he cared to relive. Even though the treat of that man wasn't gone.
