I suppose you're right on that one..
Now say what if I wanted to use energy to improve jumps heights? Or something like that?

If two sudden airspaces collide with each other without the use of common points in the particles of the airspace, or in this case, the atmosphere. This causes electrons to go crazy and begin spinning at rapid speeds, this causes what's called a tornado. My take on this is dicey. It would depend on how a character is creating it and the idea of controlling the air lends to the potential for too much power. Assuming you mean in a Qi sense. If say the character creates a vortex around their limbs much like Ralph and his fire and the tornado is an uncontrolable side effect of a clash, I would say ok. If that is the primary power to create controlled tornados... no. Now, in referance to my signature moves..E.G Criminal Uppercut, Power Wave, Wolf Fang..(Refer to the thread "Shattered Hero" for some examples)..Am I screwed? Note, I haven't made a Qi. At all. Are you just using power moves or actual super powered stuff? I.e. the move is creating something like the above mentioned tornado.

(I swear if that Qi is allowed and someone does it, you MUST run at someone while using it and say "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!") Reminds me of what Kentler did on Point hope...hahaha THIS. IS. SPARTA! EPIC! sorry, i really have nothing to contribute to the Discussion, just wanted to add that

Depends, wording is everything, but if your using energy to increase a jumps height, I dont see that being anythign other than a Qi ability. I mean there are ways to jump higher if you know how muscles work and how to optamize your jump, but if you use your own energy that would be a Qi to inance yourself, but it would be along the same lines as the shockwave, to transfer from your feet to the point of contact in the ground to jump higher, or it could simply accelerate muscle power in the legs for more hight.

Figured I'd highlight that for people who are like "oh my god, now my Qi is illegal and I have to completely redo everything". Reword and tweak how it works and you should be fine.

That sounds like a borderline Qi... and like Ken's move from Street fighter. As for just power moves, like Leon said that's fine. Besides every fighting style has special techniques within it.

As for just power moves, like Leon said that's fine. Besides every fighting style has special techniques within it. There's the kicker. You see, Cody STAYS on the ground. Starting off by literally swinging his entire body around, then using momentum of the air of the FIRST movement of his body to punch upwards into it, causing a sudden whirlwind uppercut.

I would have a problem there Cody, personally, because as a special move it lends itself to too much power almost becoming a Qi without being one, I guess. That is if I'm understanding it correctly. Something like Ken's where it is a move of some kind I can accept, but if your character is creating whirlwinds without it being Qi with the motion of his arms and body it seems overpowered to me.

mmm but the thing that gets me is the chance that everyone has self boosting QI's, it would only be natural that some develop a form of poison style to there Qi in which is used to dampen/debuff/enfeeble another characters ability such as internal attack, physical speed reduction etc.
if Qi isn't able to affect another person creativity or not whatever you develop is still and always will be nothing more than a self buff and with everyone doing nothing but self buffing that gets a bit boring. If I had ever fought someone that used projectile style Qi I would have found it unique, interesting and a fun twist to the usual self buffing opponents I have fought on my time in many PHS's that I've been at. Buffing? Its samey and in its own right uncreative.
If people seem to have trouble dealing with any form of ranged or poison/intricate style Qi's that generally would be there own lack in creativity to Rp to the occasion. Someone starts firing fireballs at me? Move for cover, wait a moment to analyze a situation and make use of that wonderful INT stat which seems to play no part at all in any of the Rp's or fights I've seen taking place and rather than go "Oh no, I don't stand a chance, I can't get near them" make use of the surroundings and have my character formulate a plan as to how to deal with the threat as regardless of what the Qi is it should have one or never have passed the approval stage.
Limiting it to self buffing is pretty dull with or without creative notability it all generally loops round to the same old thing and I think is used as a sort of safety net by most players because its the easiest to explain, Rp and tackle as well as rate for approval because then all it comes down to is +'s -'s x's etc etc.

I think poison qis would be permitted as parts of transference qis but the main difference is:
From what I saw, most peoples "poison qis" are ranged, thus the moment someone enters the range of the other person they get fucked up. However the general idea behind such a move, should actually be met with a bleed out that doesn't seem to exist in the "poison qi" users. Thus, if "poison qis" were made into a type of transference qi I think then it'd be fine... but this is just my guess on the whole situation.

Wow. Yeah Shikei, you need to be more active if you want to come up with a better arguement than that weak babble. Ranged Qi's are everywhere and as Aurthur pointed out, if a Poison Qi was turned into Transference, then it would be monitored and moderated to make sure it wasn't godding, or forced apon.
The fact of the matter most "Poison" Qi's that exist are immediate and apart of an AoE, so in other words, there is no strategy to it.
In every fight the INT stat is used. You obviousely dont know the deffinition of how it is used here. Your ability to counter an opponents actions. I do believe you yourself counter every single move you come across weither or not your INT is high enough to do such a thing.

... and that's why INT and WIS shall be my main stats...
Back to the Qi talk, more precisely poison Qi...
I consider Mathew's a poison Qi, since it negatively influences the opponent's battle performance. It's AoE, and by that, most people could consider it overpowered... But I wouldn't think so. Why? Because he gains nothing from it. He's basically a purely physical fighter. And his Qi just makes sure that his opponents remain at the same ground Mathew is in. To me, that's just ok, since I can fight either with Qi, or without it. And the rest of you should, too.
However... Qi's that do things like stat decreases, or damage over time (the actual sense of poisoning) should NEVER be AoE, or someone who's not ranged is fucked from the beggining. And don't expect me to start throwing rocks, for fuck's sake!
