Riiiiinngg..
The school bell rang signalling the end of class. She finished writing the notes down from the board with a flourish before closing her notebook and stowing her pen in the spiral. She gathered her books in her arms and walking out of the room. Once again she was in a pair of vintage "worn" jeans with a hole in the knee and beads along the pockets, a rose ribbed tank with a purposely faded graphic and graphite colored zipper hoodie over it, zipped partway up, and a pair of sneakers.
The junior made her way down the hall, around the corner and down a set of stairs to the hallway her locker was located in. Approaching the small metal door she placed her hand on the dial turning it to the left, to the right, and back again, putting in her combination..

That damn fight took more than two whole periods! Aureus screamed at Levi as he walked back into the building. Yeah, yeah...quit complaining. The red head retorted before letting his consciousness be overtaken by that of his alternate personality. Once he had control of his body again, the Pillar headed for Chi's locker, the bell had just rung so she'd probably be there. Luckily he had study hall that period, so he didn't have to worry about going to any specific class. Whether it was the same for her or not he wasn't sure, but he needed to see her for at least a few minutes.
After another minute of walking, Aureus spotted the dark haired girl right where he thought she'd be. "Hey, beautiful," he called out in greeting, already a smile was sweeping across his face. Stopping next to her, he leaned against the wall and waited for her reply.

The junior gasped at the sudden presence next to her locker, her book fumbling as she placed in her locker. She was so jumpy lately, so easily spooked, because she was afraid that any time she rounded a corner, anytime she opened a door, looked out a window, she'd see the face, his mocking grin, his devilish eyes looking back at her. She wanted to erase the memory, but even drinking till she was sick couldn't take it away, it was burned into her mind.
Glancing up she caught sight of a head of brown hair, though luckily it belonged to a friendly face, and not his. But then again, her nerves were set on end because she knew she couldn't hide anything from this one, the one she really cared about, and she didn't want to face the fact that sooner or later he was going to know, he was bound to know.
Chi tucked a strand of her long raven hair behind her ear as it fell in her face, her chocolate eyes searching her locker almost too intently.
"H-hey, Aureus.."

What's with her? All jumpy, and she barely even turned to look at you. Levi commented. It was then that Aureus remembered the way she reacted when he hugged her the other day. He was going to ask her about it when he finished, but totally forgot about it trying to calm her down. Explosions and fire do that to a person, especially when they weren't expecting it. In addition he had trouble finding her the last couple days. She couldn't be avoiding him, right?
"Where have you been lately? I had trouble finding you after school." He said, dark brown eyes still focused on her.

She blinked, still staring into her locker, almost imagining herself to be sucked into its depths and never seen again. She couldn't do this, she couldn't go on like this. He noticed the change in her, she could hear the worry in his voice when he asked where she'd been? Where had she been? Days passed by in a haze, she had spent the first few with her hair down like a curtain, shielding her from public scorn, from facing the truth. Truth, hah, there was no truth. Only lies and those too weak to conceive them. She was so bitter, so torn...and it was all his fault. No, it was her own.
She tilted her head forward enough so that her ebony locks fell in a curtain again, hiding her eyes. Or she could just be bowing her head in shame. One of the many emotions she'd become familiar with as of late, but now it burned in the pit of her stomach.
"I've b-been busy...sorry.."

Everything about Chi screamed a mix of shame and pain, but what had caused it? "Chi...what's wrong?" He asked, hoping that the bell wouldn't ring again and interrupt their moment. He wouldn't let her go this time, not until she told him what had hurt her this bad. Just seeing her so sad killed him. Maybe it was something I did... He thought, unsure of what to think.

Placing her last book in her locker, she closed the metal door and turned away from him, resting the hand that closed it on the cool metal surface, leaning against it.
"Nothing, I'm fine."
She said quickly, trying to hide the tears creeping into her voice, she blinked, looking at her feet. She couldn't tell him, it wasn't more of a 'shouldnt' anymore as it was a 'couldnt,' she couldn't brin herself to say the words that she knew would break his heart. She'd said nothing since it happened, and saying it would solidify its happening, make it all the mroe real. He had changed her, that senior, pulled her apart and put her back together so that her insides were missing. She felt empty, drained, and miserable. She didn't want to place that burden on him, he didn't deserve it.

Why can't she talk to me about this? What's wrong?! He shouted mentally. He was frustrated, scared, and worried all at the same time. Closing the short distance between them, Aureus wrapped his arms around the girl, and spoke with his voice shaking slightly. "You can tell me. I'll never leave you, I promised, remember?" He said, trying to reassure her. There was nothing that would make him leave her, nothing.

She shuddered as she breathed, like the way someone does when they're trying their best not to cry. She felt her arms go about her and unlike the last time he hugged her, she hugged him back, her arms pressing into his tightly as she tried to keep her knees from buckling. It was too much, she could feel the concern in his voice. The concern and the love. She didn't deserve it, she didn't deserve the smiles he gave her, she was a terrible person, and she would burn for it, if not literally than in her own mind.
"Never say never.."
She replied, her voice shaking and weak, letting her hair fall completely into her face. I want to tell you, I want you to let me know that it's okay, it's all okay...but it's not okay, it will never be okay. It's all my fault...

Is there anything she could have done that would make him hate her? Anything at all? She could have lied to him about anything, gone behind his back with someone else. But right now she felt horrible. So horrible she didn't even want to say what had happened. He could feel the way she tightly clinged to his arms. She did love him, everything pointed to it. He couldn't hold anything against her.
"Never. Chihiro, please tell me," He pleaded, holding on to her like he would never get the chance again, like he was falling off the edge of the world.

"Who says that it even has to do with me? Or that whatever it is would cause you to leave me? I haven't said anything.."
She broke from his embrace, spinning around to face him, her eyes searching his for the first time since their night together. She was confused, and scared, and nothing seemed to be making sense. They were all drawing conclusions from nothing, honest truth from blatant lies. She froze, her mouth falling open slightly, her eyes widening.
"...You already know, don't you? He found you, somehow he did...and he'll find me too. He isn't through with me yet...How could he? I never told him your name.."
She mumbled most of it to herself, turning her back against the lockers and sliding down the surface onto the floor, her knees up in front of her and her hands in front of her face. The hallway was beginning to clear as the second bell rang, the students rushing off to class.

Maybe 'cause you're acting like it's the end of the fucking world!! Levi shouted, the situation seemed to be really putting him on edge. "I...I don't..." Aureus mumbled, unsure how to respond. Had he assumed too much? Was he being a suspicious idiot? I just want answers damnit... He thought while Chi stared into his eyes. After that, things only got worse...
"He?" Aureus questioned, his voice shaking. So there was another guy involved in this. What did she mean by find her, not through with her yet? The details weren't the dark haired boy's main concern anymore. The facts were simple, there was a guy that had hurt her. Scared her to a point that the Pillar had never seen in anyone.
Hands tightening into fists, Aureus tried to calm himself down, but wasn't too successful. The gloves on both hands started sparking slightly, rouge flames jumping off without his consent. "Who is he?" the schizo asked Chi, the sound of bottled rage apparent. He did his best not to look at her, he didn't want her to see the pain and anger flashing through his eyes. It had been only a few days since their night together, and his unspoken promise flashed through his mind. Whoever this guy was, he was dead...

The girl curled up instinctively at the tone his voice, he was angry. She buried her face in her hands, closing her eyes tight. She didn't want him to be angry, she didn't want him to hurt, but she was the cause of this. It was her fault.
"I-I don't remember his name...Coach said it once but I only just caught it. Sar..Sor..S-Soresu."
She managed to stammer through her hands after a minute. It appeared as if she were done speaking as her shoulders shook, and she curled up even more before speaking out again, this time unable to hold back the tears in her voice.
"I didn't stop h-him, Aureus. I could have, but I d-didn't. It's all my fault...f-forgive me."

Stop, right now. Stop! Levi yelled at his alternate personality, who was considering storming off to find the boy. You need to wait. We can do more that way. ...fine. Trying to catch his breath, the Pillar went over the situation mentally. One thing was able to break through his anger though, Chi. She was scared, crying.
Sitting down next to her, Aureus wrapped his arms around her and stroked her hair lightly. He still wasn't sure what had happened, but he wasn't mad at her, and never could be. "It wasn't your fault. What did he do to you?" the boy asked, his tone switching between caring and angry. Revenge could wait for later, right now he needed to take care of her.

When Aureus sat down and hugged her, she hugged him back, wrapping her arms tight around his midriff. She hid her face in his shoulder, shaking as the sobs racked her slight frame. Once she'd calmed down enough to speak, she did so, her voice muffled shaking more than ever.
"It is my fault. I didn't s-stop him. I should have known when he l-locked the door what he w-wanted...a-and I tried at first, I really d-did, but he was t-too strong...so I j-just...g-gave up."
She broke off, losing the ability to speak again as she cried, letting out the pent up frusteration, fear, guilt, everything that had been plaguing her the last couple of days, destroying her from the inside out.
