Truth Lies...(Aureus)

[chihiro]

A light sigh escaped the dark haired girl, you could tell by the way she did that that it was something that bothered her. Something that she didn't really talk about, something that had brewed inside her for a long while, but now, for some reason it just all came out. Like she had said before, she would tell him anything he wanted to know, and well, he wanted to know.

"I mean, everyone, our neighbors and such, think so highly of our family, what with my father's occupation and our living conditions and such, they think everything is so comfy cozy, but no on'e sever really seen what goes on. I haven't had a real conversation with my father that hasn't consisted of his precious martial arts for as long as I can remember, and it's usually just to tell me how disappointed he is in me for my lack of discipline in everything I do, and to 'look at you brother, he has discipline and honor, while you mill around with no plans of the future.' My mother, (pause) she hasn't been sober for longer than a week in years. I don't blame Kashi for leaving, he got the chance and ran for it. I'm still looking for mine.."

She broke off, turning her head so he wouldn't see her eyes, that were beginning to mist over. Her brows were furrowed and there was a frown on her face. It had been so long since she even thought about the superficiality of her family, that once she had begun to talk it seemed to just all spill out. Including the emotions attached to it.

[Aureus]

It took a few moments for Aureus to fully understand the impact such things would have on Chi. She actually had a family, so it was expected that they all took care of each other, but it seemed that was far from the truth. Her brother was gone, her father only cares about martial arts, and her mother's a drunk. The Pillar had to wonder, what was worse, never having a real family or anyone to depend on, or having the family that was supposed to take care of you only leave you or stress you out? It was hard either way, and hurt him just thinking about it.

Where Aureus felt the need to escape emotionally, Chi felt the need to escape physically. He was beginning to understand her, slowly but surely. "Maybe we can get out of this desert town together," He said, hoping for the best before pulling her closer to him.

[chihiro]

A smile crossed her face, and she curled into him more as he pulled her closer. She loved the feeling of his arms around her, she felt safe, and hidden away. Like nothing could harm her.

"That sounds nice."

She sighed, the slightest of yawns escaping her as she lay on his chest. She loved it up here. Away from school (sort of), and everything, it was almost as if they could pretend that nothing else existed. Not bad for a free period. Well, sorta free, she was still skipping.

[Aureus]

I finally have someone I can depend on...someone to protect. The pillar mused as he breathed in Chi's scent. It was kind of scary how fast things were changing in his life, but they say change is good, right? After all, living the same way for too long gets boring, even for someone like Aureus.

"So, where would we go? Europe, Hawaii, Colorado?" He asked with a chuckle. It was sort of fun thinking about the future. So many possibilities...

[chihiro]

"oOoo..Hawaii sounds nice, maybe New Zealand.."

She laughed, a smile crossing her face. It was nice to think of getting out of here, going to see the world, escaping. She squirmed in his arms, un curling and curling back up. He was so comfortable.

"It'll nice to see the back end Long Beach..retreating into the distance like a distant memory."

She said, sweeping her arm across the air like it was right before her, imagining it disappear. She couldn't wait. She didn't care what she did afterward, successful or not, she just wanted to get out.

[Aureus]

"Wherever you wanna go, Chi; I'll take you there. I promise." Aureus replied peacefully. Just being with her would make him happy, but if you added on getting away from long beach and seeing the world, that was something he wanted more than anything else. She wants to get out of this small world she was forced into. She wants to make her own path, and so do you. Do you think you can do it together? Yes. "Mhmm...it'll be nice to see the rest of the world, together."

[chihiro]

A warm, happy wave washed over the brown eyed girl as she took in Aureus' words...he wanted to take her away from here? It was more than she could ever want, but could they pull it off? Could they actually escape? It seemed too good to be true.

"Yeah it would, and I don't even care where. We don't even need to make it to Hawaii, or Italy, or Antarctica for chrissakes, being together would be enough."

She said, her hand finding his again where they lay watching the sky, and giving it a light squeeze.

[Aureus]

Feeling the pressure on his hand again, the boy squeezed back. There was still so much time between then and when they could leave, and it was that time that would prove vital. After all, their little trip wouldn't be cheap. Aureus meant to keep his promise, and was going to actively push to make it come true. There was no wishing for things to fall into place, he was going to make sure they did.

The time ticked by slowly as his dark eyes traced the clouds in the sky, his thumb rubbing the top of Chi's hand. It was funny how well things seemed to be going, maybe for once things would turn out alright for him.

"So...what are we going to do once we get where we're going? Be vagabonds? Live off the land? Or maybe just travel the world without a care, see everything, experience everything...that would be cool."

She said, a light laugh escaping her. Travelling the world was one of the most exciting things she'd wanted to do, but it was a hard life to live. Living day to day, never knowing where you'd be next...but it was better than settling down. She didn't want to settle, she wanted to live. Chocolate gaze traced the clouds as they rolled across the sky. The period should be ending soon, Chi thought unenthusiastically, she wanted nothing more than to just stay here with Aureus, just her and him. Passing the world by, no cares, no worries, no vengeances. The girl's stomach tightened at the thought. Most of all, she wanted to escape that.

[Aureus]

What would they do? It was so far into the future, and he wasn't even sure how to make money while moving from place to place. Where would they even sleep at night? Such important questions, with no answers. Maybe we could buy a car, and that'd be enough. We could use the rest of the saved money for food, and do odd jobs wherever we went? Alright, alright enough with this. Stop obsessing over things that might not even happen. Take things slower. You're right. "I'm not sure yet, but we have plenty of time to figure it out, ya know?" He said while turning his head to look at her.

Why could they just stay there, on the roof, forever? No problems, worries, responsibilities; everything was perfect. As soon as they left they'd have to walk back into the troubles of life. But there really wasn't a choice in the matter, the only thing they could do was make the best of every day. "I never realized how amazing it is, feeling so...free of everything." Said said dreamily.

[chihiro]

"Hmm..it's just fun to imagine, you know? No cares, no worries, and all we need to get it that rolled up piece of paper with a stamp on it. Sometimes society can be so ironic..."

She said, her mindset falling to a thoughtful one. Maybe it was the clouds rolling lazily by, maybe it was the fact that she was laying with the most impotant person in the world to her, or maybe she was finally beginning to grow up a bit, her mindset changing on its own to a deeper sort of wondering.

Far off, a bell could be heard, toning once, twice, thrice, four times...it was the class bell, indicating the end of class. It seemed like hours, days, had gone by, but then again, it only felt like seconds. Time was a tricky thing, but there was a lot of it left, and if not, at least it seemed like it at this moment. This time was all that mattered, the future was so far off, like a kind of dream, a joint imagination of people wishing for a change. There goes the philosophy again.

Hearing the faint chime of the bell ring over and over, the Varsity Captain was pulled from his thoughts and back into reality. It was time to jump back into the hum drum world. It wasn't all that bad though; the short amount of time he had spent with Chi made him feel refreshed and ready to endure anything.

Carefully Aureus rolled to his right so that he was ontop of the dark haired girl. Leaning down, he pressed his lips into hers, stroking the left side of her face gently with is hand. One more kiss and he'd be ready to finish the rest of the day, right?

The dark haired girl let out a squeal of delight as the boy rolled over on her, it had taken her by surprise, but she was quickly silence as he kissed her, and she eagerly returned the affection, biting lightly at his bottom lip as they kissed. Her arms found their way around his neck, her right hand running through his hair. He really was too wonderful for words, she couldn't explain the way he made her feel if she had to.

She broke the kiss after a minute, smiling up at him as she traced the curve of his face with the same hand, letting out a sigh laced with disappointment.

"I guess it's time for class."

[Aureus]

"Unfortunately," The boy replied, disappointed. Ah well, there was always more time to enjoy her lips later. After rolling back over, the Pillar slid down and landed with a light thud back onto the rooftop. Thinking for a moment, Aureus decided on something fun. "How 'bout a ride to your next class?" He asked, leaning over a bit so she could jump onto his back. Sure, it was a bit childish, but it was fun!

The dark haired beauty quirked an eyebrow curiously at his question before realizing what it was he meant. A piggy back ride? How blithe! She let out a light laugh, before following suit and jumping carefully onto his back, she didn't want to hurt him.

"Don't drop me!"

She squealed, wrapping her arms around his neck, playfully nuzzling his cheek with hers.
