OOC(( Just post when you can. Continued from the "dream" event.))
"On second thought... you stay here. I have someone else in mind to come along."
David turned from the door, grabbing his bag off the bench in the hall as he made his way down the steps and into the kitchen. He began tossing various foods into it, mostly grain based bars and bottles of water, packed in with clothes he already had stuffed inside. Upstairs, August just yawned and rolled over, as though he was never bothered, grabbing the body pillow he slept with. David didn't notice the lack of reaction from August, knowing that he owed someone else the trip more.
You see, on Davids counter was a letter that was hand delivered to him, back before the power had returned. In it, the Doctor- HIS doctor - had finally returned, and was living a few miles away. He just hadn't had the opportunity these past couple days to see him, but knew it was urgent. Every moment that passed.... and now, he had more than the standard reason to keep living, even if that reason didn't know about it fully.
He shut the door behind him quietly, heading a block or two away to Olesyas house. He thought if anyone needed to be there with him, it was her. They hadn't talked since they were at the park, having nearly kissed for the first time...at least, he saw it as such. Their previous...moments, had always been in battle, or to mock. The last time was as close to a serious one as they had ever been, and he didn't want her to get awkward with him. As he came up her drive, he hoped not to wake Youichi, as the girl could be cranky this early in the morning.
He'd knock hard on her door, at least hard enough to get her attention, but perhaps not hard enough to wake Youichi in her room, and that was his biggest concern. He'd then step back to wait for someone to answer.
OOC(( Again, take your time.))

The thing with living off the world's grid meant that you often rose with the sun and set with the sun. Granted, the house had a generator that Olesya had found and tweaked slightly, but they only ran it for a couple hours at a time because gas was hard to come by. They mostly stuck to candles, as it appeared that the previous owner had either run a candle shop or had a candle fetish, as there were boxes of them in the basement. Either way, it worked out in their favor.
Having risen with the sun, Olesya was in the back yard doing her morning exercises. At the halfway house, the doctor and his staff were very keen on natural remedies for what ailed the body and soul. They roused the house early in the morning for group tai chi. Olesya found that the fluid movements cleansed her mind and connected all the synapses of her body, setting her on a good footing for the day's events.
She heard a knock at the front door, echoing around the sides of the house. This early everything was still so quiet that she could hear every bird chirp (what few there were), and every knock and clunk. Someone was at the front door. But who this early?
Olesya walked around the side of the house, looking curiously at the man at the door.
"David?"
She asked, suspicion lifting frmo her expression as she recognized her friend. He had a backpack full of something, like he was about to go on some sort of adventure or trip.

David turned his gaze to the voice he was quite familiar with. Stepping off the porch, he gave a grin
"Hey- you're up early!" he used a thumb to gesture, as though to say he was leaving somewhere.
"So I stopped by to see if you wanted to go with me somewhere. Apparently my Doctor is back, and he says he has something for me... If you don't wanna come I understand..."
He faded off the last sentence, the hand that was previously gesturing now coming up the scratch the back of his head awkwardly. He knew that hadn't talked in a few days, but didn't think it would be too weird. He doubted, for some reason, that she would be interested, mostly because it looked like she was busy, but it wasn't everyday that you got knees your life might have a second chance....

Her mismatched gaze fell to his backpack.
"What will I need?"
She asked, her gaze moving back to his face. It wasn't a question of whether or not she wanted to go with him, not in the slightest. He was keeping true to his word about keeping her in the loop, inviting her to go with him to see his doctor for the first time since....well, a long time. Too long in fact, considering his condition.
She would have to make preparations, mostly concerning Maddie. Youichi could look after her for the day, or longer if needed. She didn't want to burden the woman, but the three of them had grown rather close in their new home, so it wouldn't be too big of a problem.

David shrugged.
"Probably some overnight clothes, toothbrush, etc. I assume he's found something that can help, and it will probably have side effects."
He definitely understood her need to have a schedule. He had heard from Youichi that there were kids living there, and that she had her hands full. He was a little preturbed by news of children- Not that he actually had a problem with it. David loved kids. It would just be rougher where Barker decided to crack down on the people bleeding his men. He would follow Olesya, should she head inside, and wait out in the living room for her to come back, and get things situated.
He decided to take this time to look around her place, as it was actually the first time he had really the time to view it fully.

"Alright, let me get my things."
She stepped inside, letting him in before closing the door behind him. She skipped up the stairs, her feet falling almost noiselessly on the aged wood. Her first stop was her room, where she packed a change of clothes, her knife, and a small med kit she'd put together. She stopped off in the bathroom to grab her toothbrush and a bar of soap. She stopped outside Youichi's room, pausing before knocking lightly.
"Youichi?"
A grumble was heard on the other side of the door. Bracing herself, she opened the girl's door and stepped inside.
"Rrrr go away."
"Hey, listen. I need a favor."
The sleeping girl grumbled miserably, turning slightly and glaring at Olesya with half-closed eyes. If looks could kill..."
"What."
"David found his doctor and wants me to go with him. Can you look out for Maddie for the next day or so? You can reach Delilah if you need anything."
Youichi's gaze softened like this, and she frowned.
"Yeah, okay. Let me know, okay?"
Olesya nodded, and Youichi turned back over, falling back asleep. Olesya left her room, closing the door quietly behind her. She slid down the banister, leaping to the floor in the entryway. Another quick stop to the kitchen for some food and she was ready to go.
Walking back to the entryway, she looked around until she saw David.
"I'm ready when you are."

David heard Olesya and Youichi talking, and grimmaced.
'She's a braver one than I, waking Youichi...'
As She came down the stairs, he watched her move. Lithe, fit. Like a cat. It was so God Damned attractive.... he would nod as she walked back up to him, heading for the door. Once outside, he'd head east, toward the city, and Barker territory. Hopefully they wouldn't have any interruptions, though he doubted the man was actively looking for him, though if they tried to touch Olesya, he'd give them a reason to look for him. He would turn to Olesya and give a smile.
"So, kids huh?"
Obviously an opener for her to begin telling him a little about the kids, where they came from. He hefted his backpack over his broad shoulders, the white sleeveless shirt hugging him, but leaving him cool in the early morning. He would relish it while he could, as the clear skies indicated another scorching day. If/as Olesya started talking, David would watch their surroundings, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. It would be the first time he had been without someone watching his ass in secret, and he was happy to finally be alone and without someone pushing a thought or a word on to him.

As they walked outside, Olesya pulled a bandanna out from her backpack, tying it around her head to hide her stark white hair. Hairdye was hard to come by, but even still Olesya didn't dye her hair because with all the experiments running around, it might work to her advantage someday. Her meeting with Orion had proved that.
"Huh? Oh, yeah."
A sheepish smile crossed her face, and she adjusted the straps of her backpack on her shoulders.
"Maddie. She's the little girl Jon and I babysat back in highschool, for that Christmas assignment. She was three back then, ten now. I found her and three other girls at the destroyed orphanage where she was staying the last time I saw her. Apparently the Marton had run off, leaving them alone. Some of the other kids had run away as well, leaving Maddie, Zooey, Kit, and Beth-ann. I couldn't care for them all, Zooey, Kit, and Beth-ann have been adopted to families in the Crow Territory. Maddie stays with me."

"Ah. Gotcha. Was kind of you to take them in."
He glanced to her out of the corner of his eye, clearing his throat only a little.
"I...I'm moving."

"Yeah, well I wasn't about to leave 'em in a wrecked orphanage was I?"
She shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal, but it was clear that under her toughened, crazed exterior, she was squishy and fuzzy. It was a weird combination.
"You what?"
She asked, looking at him as if she didn't understand. Moving? Did he mean down the street or across the country? Probably not far if he doctor was in town...unless his doctor was in town just long enough to scoop him up and take him back to Florida or wherever he had been for the last seven years. And what did that mean for August and Youichi?
"Define moving."

David laughed at her expression. She seemed a little...stressed at the news. He decided to define this as good. If she gave a "whatever" or didn't react at all, he'd feel...well, put out. He would throw his arm around her shoulder, like a friend would, looking down at her mischieviously.
"Not far... Just a mile or two north." he would push off her and shove her gently.
"What did you expect? That I'd run off again? Just as things are getting fun? I told you I wouldn't. And if I did, you know I'd drag your ass with me." he would wink as they continued their trek. He thought about asking her to come with him. To escape to Dragon territory. He supposed he should tell her that, at least.
"Anyway, as I said it will be north, in Dragon territory. It seems they aren't through with me."
His grin would fade.
"It's another reason I wanted you with me on this trip. It will probably be one of the last times we see each other as often as we do now..."
Yeah. You could definitely hear the regret. He was not pleased about being so far. He had loved where he was living, and being so close to...
He shrugged the bag further up his shoulders, the sun beginning to warm the earth.

Dragons? The Dragons were back? That could either be good or bad news. Hadn't Matrim been a Dragon? He and his goonies rumbled in and took the school by storm, unseating her and the rest of the pillars, putting her in the hospital for a couple days.
"I don't remember you being a Dragon."
She replied skeptically. He could have told her all those years ago, but with all the drugs and chemicals and mental illness, some of the finer details had sifted through her memory. Another Dragon floated to the top of her memory, his brown hair and devilish smile almost making her skin crawl at the memory.
Mathew.
She hadn't seen him in years, he disappeared shortly before she lost total grip on reality. He could be dead for all she knew, his chances of being back in California were slim at best.

He kicked a rock, half shrugging.
"At the time, I didn't tell anyone, really. It just started to spread. The title itself was known, not really who it was. That's how it always turns out to be. I was named before the false Dragons, back when they decided these things together." He glanced over at her. "I am the Storm Dragon. And I take what it means to be one seriously. I'm not a member of anyones group, I don't follow orders. I'm my own man. And I work nothing like Leon, Or Ark, or any of the others. We all do our own thing."
He would put his hands down in his pockets.
"Is my being one a... bad thing?"
He watched her as they walked, eyes trailing over her features. If she happened to glance over, he'd glance away quickly, keeping his eyes on the road.

Storm Dragon...the title fit him well. David was much like a storm, always brewing, always moving, sometimes bringing trouble, but other times bringing the much needed rain to the thirsty ground. Even now his features were stormy, like there was something deeper on his mind. There always was.
When she looked at him, he looked away quickly. The corners of her mouth turned downward slightly, and she busied herself by reaching into her bag for some water.
"No...I've just...had mixed run-ins with the Dragons. A bunch of them came in and overhauled the pillars when you were gone. Or were you back at that point? Ugh, I can't remember anymore..."
She rubbed her head with her free hand, before her hand came down to unscrew the top to her water bottle. She took a long drink, the silence between them broken by their own footsteps.
"Mathew was a Dragon too. We were friends...I think."
The first time she met him, they were enemies. The second time she met him, they were strangers. And the third time she met him...he took her on a date. And then like that he was gone.

David smiled.
"Well, we all have goals, but we're all very, very different. There were four of us around, for a while. Myself, Amtrum, Leon and Linda. Linda started naming randoms, as Did Leon. Those random people were what I consider the False Dragons, as they never really understood what it meant to be one, and never took it seriously. It was just some kinda accolade. Linda left, the other Dragons faded, and now it's just me, Leon and Matt." He cleared his throat.
He would watch her, as she spoke of Matt.
"If it helps at all, I think he, and possibly Leon, are alive."
"I've heard of a man who can control the Earth, working up in Washington. They say the place is, or was, a warzone when Barker tried to take over. And if Matt's not up there raising hell, I'm not sure who else it could be."
