Stretch it Out (Aryn/Open)

[Aryn Valcoph]

No tears, at least. Or rather, no new tears aside from the few that had been spilled when her collarbone snapped. She stared - or was it glared? - at Leon as he inspected her.

"Goodie. Am I to guess that I'm going to be electrocuted underneath all that water?"

That would suck. And she probably would die, then. pulling her numb arm in to ease the pressure on her collarbone. She sat down, for the first time not upon Leon's lap, but with her back against his, leaning against him that way.

[Mr. Kaar]

"No, your going to battle the flow of the falling water with your Qi, and hold it at a stalemate for as long as you can. Do not evaporate it all, and do not let the water fall back onto you."

Leon would state as he let her catch her rest where she could.

"This one will need alot of concentration and control. So for this one Mathew and I will not interupt you."

[Aryn Valcoph]

"Hn."

Aryn was quiet as she thought about the technicalities of that.

Sounded very difficult. She didn't sink down, as that would be painful, but made herself as comfortable as she could, given her position.

"You don't think the water's just going to fall through?"

Sounded like it would have to be a fairly large span of water fire.

[Mr. Kaar]

"It probably will in the beginning. You have to learn how to encampass it, and control the intensity of your flames. Right now its dangerous not only to your enemies, but everyone around you when you use your Qi."

[Aryn Valcoph]

Yup. Sounded just like Kazuya.

Pity they were both right, though.

"Mm."

[Mr. Kaar]

"Take your time with it though. No rush in all actuality. My Qi is similer to yours. I can't fully control it, so I wear this suit to drain my Qi at a constant rate. If I didn't have it, I'd be no better than a natural disaster."

[Aryn Valcoph]

"Really..?" Aryn's head tilted slightly before straightening, wincing a little at the pull on her collarbone. She wasn't outwardly complaining, but inside she was, at this. "Do you know how that works, so you could circumvent it aside from your suit? Not that I'm complaining about it."

...damn man looked good in it, after all.

[Mr. Kaar]

Leon nodded.

"That though is for another time. For now, your five minutes are up."

[Aryn Valcoph]

So much for that. Aryn frowned and pushed herself up after tucking her legs beneath herself a little more, pushing with her free hand. She turned towards the waterfall and ruffled Leon's hair as she passed by, either uncaring or too lazy to worry that the deeper cuts were still oozing blood.

It all came out in the wash under the waterfall, anyway.

Aside from it hitting the area around her collarbone, she didn't mind getting wet. Perhaps the hardest feat, while the others were predominately about power and endurance, this was about maintenance and concentration to achieve balance. She shook her head at that. Keep it simple, stupid.

She moved under the waterfall - good shoulder first, no need to handicap herself at the start - she stuck her head under the fall of water to clear her head, so to speak. It was then she created the fire and moved it overhead. This...was going to take time. The water still flowed through her flame.

Leon would sit near by meditating until she got done. Sensing to see if Mathew was near by. If he was Leon would speak still meditating.

"First impressions?"

Since they where out of ear shot of Aryn, and she should be too concentrated on the water fall.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Well, she isn't dead yet."

He said as he took a seat next to Leon, folding his legs under him as he got comfortable.

"She has a bit of an attitude problem, and seems to think that she is hot shit."

Not that it was a bad thing. Just observations.

[Mr. Kaar]

Leon would grin, opening one of his eyes slightly to gauge Mathew's face breaking his meditation.

"So... Smug?"

Leon was holding back a small chuckle.

"But your right."

Leon would close his eye again and think on it. Probably a mix of her playful nature and lack of true understanding of the powers that be in the world... Though it was likely her free spirit.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"I'm always right."

He said simply, letting his eyes sweep over to Aryn as she worked on her challenge.

"Odds of survival?"

In Leon's opinion.

If Aryn was right about anything, it was that this was frustrating. And, she found out, exhausting. From the start, she wasn't putting enough power into maintaining her qi. Then, when she cranked it up, it was too much. Fine nuances of control weren't exactly her style.

...yet.

The brunette shifted back fully under the fall of water, breathing deeply as she slowly worked on lowering the power to where she needed it. Slowly. Slowly. It was going on fifteen minutes as she tried to find just the right level of power she needed. The water still fizzled ahead, and it wasn't water that was beginning to bead upon her brow, but sweat.

"C'mon you piece a'..."

And it took a while, but she finally got it to the point that it was no longer evaporating it. It was a rather taxing process and--no--her flames wavered--noooooooo--sputtered--NONONONOOO--

"FUCK!"

It was a half-shout, half-yelp as Aryn's power sputtered below the level she had managed to maintain for three minutes. When it crashed down onto her shoulder, Aryn saw black and swayed for a moment before her eyes snapped open again. Black fire flared up, once more evaporating the water raining down on her despite her near blackout.

"Fuck. You. You piece. Of shit. I swear to God. I will end you."

She may not have been muttering to or about anyone in particular. Then again, she might have. A little too quickly, she dampened the flames and hissed as the water broke through again, splashing against her broken collarbone. She stopped that as soon as she could, and gradually evened it out once again. Breathing hard.

[Mr. Kaar]

Leon opened his eyes fully looking to Aryn, then back to Mathew.

"If she continues to drive herself with that spirit of hers, she may make it... If she wavers even once... She will die."

Leon looked over her and after todays evaluation.

"Sixty percent."

Leon would stand and walk over next to the falling water. He'd wait to see if his pressence messed up her work with the Qi.

"You have five seconds to answer this. What is the value of life?"
