Portals to the Unknown [GM]

[Kyrie Blaze]

Aaron was on the ship. And instead of three Blazes - one unconscious - there were five. Bhaltair and Locke Blaze. Both had lived and fought with the Black Prince in England. And there were other ancestors on Earth as well, which was entirely intriguing and partly suspicious. She didn't chalk it up to coincidence any more than Damien had.

And Bhaltair had mentioned her earrings being a portal. It was both curious and concerning and so she had promised to be careful if she used them. Which was why she had entered into one of Ceres' training rooms.

"Ceres, I need you to keep this facility on lockdown. I am going to be testing what Bhaltair told me about my earrings. If it is a portal I do not want anything hostile getting out, or anyone too weak getting in. I would permit only four people entering but only if necessary. Those people are Bhaltair, Locke, Aaron, or Damien Blaze."

The only four she felt could handle it if things went south.

[Mr. Kaar]

Ceres would confirm the perameters of the training room and await any further instructions. While elsewhere on the ship, Bhaltair is watching.

[Kyrie Blaze]

The blonde wasn't sure where to begin, exactly. Obviously it was the earrings themselves.

"From this point on the lockdown is in effect. Please monitor both myself and the earrings as well as the room for any anomalies."

She tilted her head and took out one of the hooked earrings from her ear to inspect it. It was glossy, black, and dangled slightly. For all the world it looked like an ordinary earring. She took the other out to inspect it as well. But she had been wearing it for weeks already and nothing had happened, so, she was pretty sure it needed to be activated. Like Hulda, when she unsheathed the sword.

[Mr. Kaar]

Ceres can not detect anything about the earrings or anything anomolous in the room.

Kiyr however can slightly feel something from the rings, almost a hunger. As if the rings required fuel.

[Kyrie Blaze]

She blinked at the slight pull against her fingers. Like children grasping the skirts of their mother for attention. Food? The blonde frowned a little and slowly slid the earrings back into place.

Fuel would make sense. If it was indeed a portal, it would need energy to open it, right?

Okay then. She would space her feet shoulder width apart and take a deep breath...and cautiously and consciously try to funnel some of her own energy upwards through her body and into the earrings.

[Mr. Kaar]

Once again she would feel the hunger rise as if something on the otherside was trying to feed on the energy. Kiyr would note a black aura swivling about her body. It didn't harm her, but seemed she was on the right path.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Blue eyes blinked rapidly at the increase in the gnawing hunger and several more times at the black aura. That wasn't her qi...but reminded her of it. She reached out and would try to control it with her qi, just to see if she could.

[Mr. Kaar]

At the feel of touching this Qi it would begin to swirl and surround her hand and arm. As if waiting to be used, however it would feel very heavy, and would sting and begin to hurt the longer she held onto it.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Her arm tensed at the feeling of weight. The stinging itch and maybe even slight burn. Her brow furrowed and she tried to discern whether this aura and weight and mild pain were connected directly to the earrings.

[Mr. Kaar]

She could feel the energy coming directly from the earrings into her hand now. The earrings were glowing and being flung around by an unknown wind or energy.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kiyr took a deep breath to steady herself as she asked Ceres for another update, keeping her qi and energy feeding at a consistent rate.

"Please, also ensure you record the visual and audio as well as whatever data you pick up, Ceres."

She was wary and even a bit nervous...but that was to be expected. Kyrie would try to ease the aura away from her arm to see if that was possible and if it would ease the stings and weight.

[Mr. Kaar]

Ceres took another reading.

"Alterdimensional portal located. In your hand."

The attempt to ease the energy away from herself caused it to spike and a small eruption of energy would cause some more pain.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Interesting—

With a sound of surprise and a bit more pain, Kyrie instinctively jerked her hand back even though she knew the aura was connected to her and would follow. She shook her head a bit harder and slowly exhaled.

"I am...going to feed a bit more energy into the aura around my hand. Monitor how wide the portal gets and if you can sense anything on the other side."

Carefully, she would try to do just that. Not too much because she didn't want the portal to burst open...but she had to know if Ceres could sense anything before the pain escalated to a point she couldn't take it. Right now she was okay...but she wasn't entirely sure, even being used to pain and bodily punishment, she could stand to manipulate things.

[Mr. Kaar]

Ceres can not view past the portals rift.

"There are things interfering."

The energy however increased and the amount of energy did as well, so much so that it would begin to force her arm to shake rather intensely.

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie experimentally tries to throttle back on the energy! Mostly because she's concerned about the pain and shaking, but also because she needed to know if she could.
