Speak Up (Eric, Leon)

[Leon]

"it's long."

There would be a moment as if it needed a breath.

"The Earth Dragon once experimented on a man on order from Barker. Some no name nobody who wanted revenge. He didn't know he was making a creature that could counter Hades. This creature used it's own soul to counter Chaos. Loki... I tried to warn him and caught the creature in the act."

[Mathew Amtrum]

He'd stare her down. His patience running thin.

[Bailey Oleander]

She could feel his patience ready to snap like the cup just had, but focused on what was being said. If he killed her now, if he lashed out and knocked her out, then he would never know what needed to be said.

"Alright, so it's long. What I have is that, 'The Earth Dragon once experimented on a man on order from Barker. Some no-name nobody who wanted revenge. He didn't know he was making a creature that could counter Hades. This creature used it's own soul to counter Chaos. Loki... I tried to warn him and caught the creature in the act.'"

She frowned as she relayed the message, catching names she recognized from previous conversations, including with Eric himself, but nothing else made sense to her.

'Would he know who you were, before? When you tried to warn Loki?'

[Leon]

"I think I am Loki."

[Mathew Amtrum]

His jaw tightened, but he stayed silent. She said it was long, he'd let her finish before he acted. Either way.

[Bailey Oleander]

Her eyes widened at the explanation, unable to keep her gaze from going to her glove, a soft "Oh," of surprise in response to the answer she was given. Then she took a deep breath and looked back to Eric, lips pressed in a thin line.

'I'm sorry,' she directed at the spirit. 'Is there anything I can do?' She may be offering help to a spirit, but the question was as much out of concern as it was habit.

"After the mission at the facility, I spoke to Commander Sudeki about some of my findings, including the strong possibility that soul sacrifice was used to seal the area away, maybe more. It is believed the one who was sacrificed may be Loki." She shook her head, still not understanding the connection between the two, but trusting the glove despite its namesake.

'What else?' Daughters had been mentioned, but she had no idea how much more Loki might have to say about the murder or experiment, either.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"So they murdered Loki to seal the area?"

[Bailey Oleander]

"From what we know so far, yes." She gave a small nod, not appreciating the wave of nausea that came with it. She didn't know how much she was allowed to say about the Gods and their business, but at the same time, she didn't want to lie to Eric. From what she was hearing, he knew more than she would on the matter. She shifted her weight to her other foot as she contemplated her words.

"The Commander advised he sent someone to the facility to confirm it, and we're pending that confirmation now.  There was a tree in an old power plant there. It had the same symbol on it as the locks we saw at the facility. There was no way to open them that we could find until I came in contact with it."

[Leon]

"There was something wrong with my teleport crystal. It connected to a rogue power surge and dragged me into the facility. It was sealed long before I got there... I was wounded fighting the creature and sacrificed myself to create that tree. It was the only way to get out I could find."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"And tell me again, how you know all of this."

[Bailey Oleander]

"There was a--" Bailey stopped at Eric's interjection, the explanation on hold. She sighed and ran her finger through her hair. She knew this was going to come up. So far, though, he seemed to accept that she wasn't out of her mind. Small favors were wonderful sometimes.

"I don't. I'm passing on what I'm being told by what is presumed to be Loki." Her tone grew a little clipped, but she paused to take a deep breath and try again. "Like I said, I'm the messenger.

"The one who knows this is the spirit from the tree I found. They, so far as I know, are Loki. He...they?" Hopefully Loki? would be willing to share gender pronouns, because with that namesake and meeting them as a tree, Bailey has no clue. "They are the one with the knowledge. So I know what is passed on to me by communicating with them, but of the two us, I am the one that can physically speak." She really wanted to sit down at this point. The explanation was getting long winded, and not for what she thought it would be.

[Mathew Amtrum]

"I see..."

He frowned, mulling over what she was saying. His body was dead, that much he knew. He had Loki's daggers still, and the pendant that he had been clutching. Parts of the story were matching up, but that didn't mean whatever she was saying was coming from Loki. Even if stranger things had happened before.

"Twenty years ago the Earth Dragon and Loki made a trade. What was it?"

If she answered wrong, he'd kill her. At least that was the plan.

[Leon]

Bailey would feel the spirit wiggle.

"Male if you would... Was? Now I'm confused."

There would be a pause at the question.

"Always cautious. The trade was pendants made by Odin. A use of my power for a use of his power."

[Bailey Oleander]

Bailey blinked and tried not to squirm as she felt the spirit wiggle. It wasn't bad, just odd. It had never been this active before, but she would adapt. She chuckled a little at his complaining about Eric's being cautious.

"He said the trade was pendants made by Odin. A use of his power for a use of the other's."

[Mathew Amtrum]

"Okay."

So it seemed legit, or a good guess. He relaxed a little.

"So what's the point of this meeting? What are you hoping for?"
