"To TEACH YOU!"
The man shook his head.
"And if I remember right it was a CERTAIN someone that ruined a CERTAIN High Chancellor's salad, so I would think that this would be something that CERTAIN someone should complain about wasting food."
The man would let his words sink in before continuing.
"Besides, will you ever make that mistake again? If the answer is anything but 'no', then I suggest you take a good long look at those utensils now."

His words silenced her for once, Roz's lips pressing into a tight line of fury. She took a slab of the meat that had fallen on her and slapped it back on the platter if it wasn't still tilted towards her.
"What next?"

"Follow me! And remember your form!"
He would say as he got up and started walking. The floating eye ball once again watching Roz.

She decided not to tell him where he could keep his form, removing the worst of the food fiasco that clung to her as she could in the short time she had before following. Damned proper form meant taking forever instead of her usual stride.
Roz follows!

He again would take the longer path leading to the Library. Again silencing, berating, and punishing anyone who dared speak ill of Roz or attempt to sabotage her training.
Once at the library. He would instruct her to sit at the table.
"Now. We will spend the rest of our time together going over speech. Who you can speak to, when you can speak to them, and how you will speak to them, as well as how you respond to those addressing you. I will teach you correct grammar and vocabulary appropriate for one in you position. I'll even teach you above your position if you succeed in learning my primary lessons quickly. Maybe you could impress someone with your mind and not your... other assets, that I'm sure you're all to well versed in using."

Again, Rozalin remains silent, head held high despite the stains that clearly smeared and marred her appearance. At least it wasn't her hair.
Taking a seat at the table, her brows raised at the notion of people she couldn't speak to. That was ridiculous. Again. How was she supposed to not talk to someone, given who she did know? Fuck her position, this was going to take a lifetime.
"My mind isn't as dull as you might think, but fine." She raised a hand in a gesture for him to continue. "How many of these stuck up pricks am I not to address unless spoken to?"

The man would give Roz a list. A... long... list.
"These people are a start."
The list included ALL of the servants. Most of Preston's advisers and other high members in his court. A few other upper class citizens as well. Oh and most of the lower class citizens.

She had to ask, didn't she. Roz's nostrils flared as she caught some familiar names, mostly those whom she had stood gaurd at Preston's area with. And the lower class citizens, who still acted like she wasn't an equal for not having their upbringing, but were more humble about it in their own way.
...yeah, she didn't exactly have friends here.
"Then who canI speak to?"

"Ah, anyone that asks you a question, and anyone the High Chancellor tells you that you may speak to."
The man thought for a moment.
"Oh! And some of the serving staff, but only in specific circumstances."

"So essentially no one." Rozalin sighed. "I don't supposed I'm likely to meet anyone of my own ranking?" She was a Commander, after all. It gave her some social standing.

The man shrugged.
"I tell you what, you meet anyone else in your position, you can speak to them however you wish, for I am sure they will do the same."
Then he would open a few books.
"Read... here. Here. There. Here. This page... and these phrases."
Hew would say pointing out specific areas of each random book he opened. Each on was a excerpt of an interaction between the people of each station in life speaking to someone of a higher or lower station in life. These were the intro examples for her to get a good idea of what she would need to do. He'd wait for her to finish reading.

Considering she was acting as his bodyguard, that was fair. Roz turned her attention to the books and phrases before her.
Roz reads them! Her diction isn't the best, but it's nowhere near the "arr, yarr, matey" that came with the pirate stereotype...

The man would let her read while grabbing a few books off of the shelves.
"Here. These should help you as well."
He would place the small pile on the desk. If Roz went to inspect them they would all be grammar and pronunciation books.

Rozalin takes a break from reading to look over the other books without actually reading them. She can keep up, sure, but she didn't know all the big fancy words she'd likely find in them.
After a moment, she would flip the first book open.
"Th' rain in Spain fell neatly on the plain." Monotonous. Not to mention the low diction on the "t" in neatly.
