Whenever she really needed to find him, Krane was usually in his office! With this in mind, Marin was going to check there first!
Yatahamal was her steed of choice this day, and the young girl rode the bear all the way to the door.
"Okay. You knock for me!"
The bear knocks on the door but it's more like nails scraping.
"Good boy!!"

Krane looks up from his paperwork at the sound of scratching at his door. It's foreign and unusual. However he gets up and moved to the door, Qi energy at the ready to spring into action at any moment. Pulling open the door, his eyes focus on Marin and... Some odd creature she is riding.
"Oh, hello Marin. What's the matter?"

Krane would nod and exit the office.
"Let's go then."
Krane would lead the way to the training facility and a little ways inside. He thought about what to say or how to explain it.
"Ever set ants on fire?"

What a coincidence, that was the first thing she ever did here!
"Yeah!! I burned ants when I meet Rai!"
She hops off her bear as she follows next to Krane, glancing up at him, then where she's going, then up at him again.
Then just kinda grabs his hand.
Uhh. Safety first.

Krane would take her hand and lead the way, it didn't take long before they came across a huge sand mound. They would be able to feel the ground move from time to time. However after a second or two a german shepard sized fire ant would come out of the top of the mound.
"These are Qi Beast Ants. Harder to burn than regular ants, but should be just as fun. We don't burn people unless they are very bad people. So for this first Ant, why don't you show me what you got?"

Marin is taken aback by the size of that ant, evident in the way she briefly squeezes his hand.
"Is the ant bad?"
She's pretty sure ants are all bad but she's made mistakes before. Might as well double check.

Krane would turn and kneel down to her eye level.
"Yes, all of the Qi Beasts in the Training area are bad. That's why we come out here and use them to get stronger."

She furrows her brow in determination.
"Okay. I'll show you!"
Uhh. Hopefully.
She's never really had much difficulty bursting things into flames so it's hard for her to gauge how difficult a big ant will be.
At any rate, she first tries to locate the biggest heat source on the ant so she can start intensifying it! And hopefully set it on fire!

+ Combust: Marin raises heat levels on something to cause her energy in fire damage. (20)

Marin finds a heat source in it's head. These Qi beasts could create fire apparently. Fire Ant wasn't just a name, it was a type too. It's face erupts in fire and it thrashes around in the dirt! However it is used to fighting other ant colonies for territory and puts the fire out quickly. It looks around frantic, but blind from the damage for the source of the attack. Krane pretty much ignores the blind at as more Ants come out of the hole, small flames at the mouth ready to blast.
Marin will probably not note yet she was stronger for having listened to Krane.
(Krane now has the ability to order strategic defenses. All PC’s who follow his orders for this thread get +1 exp to every stat, for every round they listen. Boosts last for thread, up to a maximum of +7 to every stat.)
"Good job. Can you create your own fire?"

Marin can't help the devilish grin spreading across her face as the ant's head bursts into flames and it starts to freak out.
Giant ants are WAY more fun to burn!
When more come out she doesn't panic because Krane doesn't. But also because she suddenly felt like she might be able to hurt them even more than the first time.
She stares down at her hands.
"Yeah, I can. See?"
She lights her entire hands on fire.

Krane nodded and pat Marin on the head.
"Good, now hold your hands in front of you like this."
Krane would turn next to her and hold his hands out in front of him like a funnel with his fingers, palms away from him and wrists touching.
"Now increase the amount of fire, make it explode with as much fire as you can, make the fire shoot out from your hands."
Krane would throw a rock at an Ant and it would look over, two of the Ant;s charged at Krane and Marin.
"Wait for them to get close, set their heads on fire, then blast them with everything you've got."

That's like...three steps. She could remember all that. She tries to put her hands exactly like Krane was showing, never really having shot fire before. Instinctively, she only had figured out how to make fires or make them worse. Having it blast out of her hands sounded fun! She waits for them to get close enough that she's uncomfortable with it, quickly trying to set their heads on fire but she can only really concentrate enough to get the one going. At that point she's worried they're TOO close so she skips the second ant and just tries the fire blast them both instead. "Uh oh..." Marin's focus was completely on the fire already burning on her hands, intensifying in as quick a burst as she could to shoot it out at the ants! ---- Attack: 11 Defense: 15 Speed: 18 Perception: 13 Energy: 23 Zero Ability: Heat up! - Marin manipulates heat, able to either intensify fire or create it by raising heat levels on something (must be something that creates heat). + Intensify: Adds 1/2 of Marin's energy to fires or explosions in extra damage. + Combust: Marin raises heat levels on something to cause her energy in fire damage. 23 + 11 = 34dmg
