I'ma Punch You In The Face (Nova, GM)

[Gunslinger]

As they'd been told to do, Daniel and Nova are heading to Vindicta!

Daniel's dressed the same as always, and wearing his two guns proudly. He has no intention of even attempting to hide the fact that he's armed as he heads into new territory.

[Novocaine]

Nova is carrying pretty lightly as well. She has a bag with spare clothing and some throwing knives but that's about it.

For now she's got her head-bow over her ears. She just doesn't wanna get into THAT conversation yet.

"No one's even stopped us from getting into the territory several miles away. They must be easy to infiltrate." Nova notes.

[Donovan]

They would notice the severe lack of security wasn't just a fluke. As the made it a good part into the center of the territory before they saw someone. That someone being Donovan wearing his new helmet. He was out in a grassy field training. He had his sword stuck in the grass off to the side as for right now he was more focused on fleshing out his hand to hand combat moves.

As Daniel and Nova got closer they would be able to see the sheen of swear that was covering his skin. He had obviously been out here a while. Donovan's helmet would begin to alert him that it had picked up something on its proximity sensors. When he heard the warning he would stop what he was doing and look around until he saw the two new faces. At least these two weren't wearing masks...

"Yo!"

He would call out waving to them. He would then walk over to his sword and bend down next to it wear he had some water, now was as good a time as any time hydrate.

[Gunslinger]

"Well, they're Vindicta. They don't do smart th-"

Daniel cuts himself off at the sound of someone calling out to them. His hand instinctively goes to the hilt of his gun, but he doesn't draw it right away. Instead, he glances at Nova, before heading towards the man.

"This must be the welcoming committee. Pretty poor, if you ask me."

Once he's close enough, he gives the man a bit of a nod.

"Who are you?"

[Novocaine]

"Don't forget they can't know who we really are." Nova warns, already thinking up a fake identity to present.

As they approach the man, Nova would give a polite nod and smile as she responded to the greeting.

"Hey, there."

She'd wait to see what he answered Daniel.

[Donovan]

The helmet picked up the private conversation relaying to Donovan something about can't know who they are. That's... not normal. But for now he wouldn't worry about it. People are strange. His faceplate would open up allowing him to drink his water. Which is what he would do before answering, holding up a finger telling Daniel to wait as he guzzled down his water.

"Ah!"

He would say refreshed as he put the water away.

"Names Donovan. Who might you two be?"

[Gunslinger]

No one fucking tells Daniel to wa-

No. Wait. Calm down. It's ok.

"...Daniel."

[Novocaine]

Nova narrows her eyes as Daniel does not, in fact, make any effort to conceal who he is. Yeah it's just a first name. A pretty common one, at that. But that's still a real piece of identity.

Now she's gotta worry about him calling her by her real name, too, if he's that unreliable.

"I'm Xayah, nice to meet you."

[Donovan]

Donovan chuckled.

"I don't believe you."

[Gunslinger]

"....what?"

Daniel's brow furrows! He best not be talking to him.

....maybe he should've made a fake name too.

[Novocaine]

"Kinda weird to suspect strangers of lying about their names when you've literally just met them." Nova would cross her arms and tilt her head.

[Donovan]

Donovan folded his arms, still smiling smugly.

"The last stranger to show up was wearing a mask and was friendly right up to the point where we had a friendly spar, at which point he beat me unconscious and then proceeded to beat and break most of the bones in my body and that left me hospitalized until very recently. So, forgive me if my trust for strangers words isn't very high. So, want to earn my trust. Just tell me you're real names and that'll be that and we can move on in a friendly manner."

[Gunslinger]

"...why do we have to earn your trust for anything?"

Daniel asks, his arms unfolded and no smug smile upon his face.

"It's not our fault you got beat up by somebody else."

[Novocaine]

"And if I tell you another name, you're just going to believe it's the real one, now?"

I mean he didn't really explain why the first names they gave had to be fake. Just that he had trust issues so...

[Donovan]

Donovan would ignore Daniel, it was obvious that the woman wore the pants in this relationship.

"So, do you mean to tell me that the names you have me first are your real names?"
