Qi Research and Development Class

[Avice Locke]

With all the excitement she had put her hands up for a guard there was quite a bit of confusion so she was unsure of where it was coming from.

"Oi..." She exhaled a bit in relief and shook her head in slight disapproval.

Qi be the energy some of us are abundant of... It is what makes people fly 'nd shoot lasers from their eyes." She was being genuine with her answer. "If ya don't know 'ow to use it by now ya might not 'ave it. Or ne'er to late to find out if ya do by putting yourself in Dangerous situations or a bit of soul searchin', aye?"

She would turn back to focusing her Qi into the crystal while she tried to piece things together. "So they saved their stronger people to whom ever was holding these crystals..." She spoke mostly to herself rather than out loud. Realizing the attack was incredibly organized she assumed it was certainly the big alliance they were hell bent on destroying. None of it really had nothing to do with her however by motive enough they killed countless innocent people and their own and that was something she could get fired up enough to fight against.

"'Ow much power could these crystals 'old? Also 'ow would they compare to the information you'd been gatherin'? Accurately speakin'..."

[Cain Rhamos]

Cain does not accept, stubbornly getting to his feet on his own. Though at least he's not glaring at Sam for daring to do such a thing.

No, that is reserved for Kaia, who dared interfere while he was going through with his idea.

"So that's a pass, then."

[Kaia Galanos]

Kaia would look back at Cain smugly, apparently good at sensing his ire. She'd listen for the response about whether or not it was a pass or if their attempts counted for marks at all.

"I might need a new crystal if we'll be continuing to work with them." she'd mention to either instructor. If anything she'd already figured out how to use it at least.

[Preston Salabim]

Preston would hand over the crystal to be looked over. He was confident.

[Cara Dunn]

So more of a concern for her than something she could use. Cara nodded at the explanation as she listened to the others muse. It was about what she expected, though she was glad to see Kaia take her next idea into practice.

The girl with teh strange accent had good questions!  She couldn't help the dark haired boy with his question, the it was one she was also curious about.  She never heard anyone who ued it try to describe it.

[Triton Augustus]

The spectacle about Triton was rather marvelous to behold. A boy had a query at the spectacle's end, and the islander awaited the answer. However, not one presented itself, thus Triton felt naught but called upon to accept the charge.

"Qi, friend," Triton began as he erected forth from his bottom and made way toward the boy. "...is quite simply a word whose purpose is to describe the certain odd abilities that fill us with might to vanquish our foes," the islander halted as his destination had been reached.

"What inspires it to serve us? Truly, I tell you, I know not the science or witchery by which it behaves. However, my speech can not out pour with greater certainty than to tell you that Poseidon guides the qi's flow like water, and supplies us with such abilities the telling of which shall fill our children's children with awe.

"Now, no two creatures wield such qi the same. Consider the sword, and the many shapes it takes. Curved it sometimes is, yet others straight. Some that, held up, reach for the heavens, others forged to be concealed with ease within the shadow of the arm. Blades of great weight, blades who place little burden on the hands of their masters. This it is for the sword, as it is for qi. It is your ability to wield, and not a single other heart bears you qi's burden, yet no other soul can know its strength. Wield it as your own spirit guides you to wield it, command it as your own mind thinks to command it."

Surely the boy now felt rather knowledged on the subject.

[Zack Asiv]

Adrian would inspect the crystal from Preston, feeling out the new effects and letting his energy flow through it to examine it's updated workings. He would hand it back to Preston.

"Pass. As expected."

He would then reach into his coat and pull out a new crystal for Kaia, and then one for Cain.

"Your methodology passes. Your result does not. Had I been an enemy, Cain would not have been so lucky. Cabal and the Gods are based on teamwork. Your efforts were singular and selfish. Until you can do the same on purpose while working together, I will consider it a fail."

Sam would approach Donovan.

"While the others are a bit simplistic in their theology of the matter. There is a stream of energy within you, a muscle that is likely not being worked out. You must find it before you can flex it. The best way is to remember the feeling of your Qi being active, not the instinctual reaction."

Adrian would then walk to his starting spot and address Avice's question.

"Our research discovered some sort of negative space created by some sort of summoning technique which summoned coffins. Reports show that at least two of the people in the coffins were dangerous class A threats from the war who were killed. The energy shield were produced from the coffins and forced whomever was captured inside the shield to produce the energy for the shield. So instead of using their own people they targeted Emperor Strike, who is assumed to be one of the most powerful beings known to civilization as we know it."

[Preston Salabim]

He'd take the pass, easy enough. But he'd expected nothing less from this. Taking the crystal back he would probe it once more, checking to see if Adrian did anything to it before handing it back.

Either way, he would jot down notes on how the Crystal seemed to be handling his change and any other changes that may have been done to it. Then he would make note of its possible weakness by bringing two of them together with enough force.

"It's an interesting tactic with the element of surprise, but it won't work a second time. Not if the energy transfer can be interrupted by a chair. In a real battle, they would risk it losing power due to all manner of debris and chaos happening around it."

[Donovan]

Donovan would twitch at the two people that answered him. But he already knew what they were saying, they weren't answering his question at all! He was about to snap when the teacher Sam explained. Ah!

"Hmm..."

Donovan closed his fist and concentrated. The feeling he felt when his Qi was activated, huh? Well normally its pain... but that was a personal activation. What is it that he felt juuust before he blacked out... he would focus and then suddenly he felt it. That feeling of Qi moving in his body as it transferred into the crystal.

"Oh? I think I did it..."

Donovan would say lightly tossing the crystal on the ground to activate it. When the sheild came up he could see the faint stream of energy coming from the crystal to the sheild.

"So, question. Say someone activates their crystal, and I can see the energy, like I can for this crystal. Couldn't I just activate my shield in the middle of their energy flow to cut off the sheilds energy supply? Making my sheild the only one up and running, and minus the explosion that colliding the sheilds created like a moment ago?"

[Cara Dunn]

"So they would have had to known or gamble at who would be there when the coffins came." If anyone could separate the energy with a bit of wood, that wasn't a good sign. He had the right of it.

"What happens with the negative space? If we can break the flow with furniture, what happens if you tried something from the side? Or the ground?"

[Avice Locke]

"They bloody woke the dead and used them!" Her mouth came agape and her exclamation was loud. "These dead were strong enough to give them enough time and energy to cause incredible devastation. Despite this Strike's reputation of power. That don't feel right... Not to anyone human..." She grimaced. It just was not right or decent to not let the dead simply rest.

People would have asked her next questions so she wasn't going to worry about that. Some of these people are not so muscle bound to be asking attentive classes. Avice glanced at the others who pulled such anxious tricks, who moved without assessing the situation. Those others not like her example. Suppose the instructors did mention they had not handled the situation exactly proper. Suppose that was how it was.

[Cain Rhamos]

“That’s fucking stupid.”

Cain huffs, before looking to just snatch the crystal from Adrian’s hand and inspect it.

“I hate teachers like you.”

[Kaia Galanos]

Kaia rolls her eyes.

"Favouritism already? Yikes."

She takes the crystal without so much as a thank you, cocking a hip.

"If I accidentally work together with someone and it works, who gives a shit about the intent? I can work with someone even if I don't personally care about them. Besides, the point was to get past the barrier, so what's up with failing me on something irrelevant?"

What the hell was this?

[Zack Asiv]

Adrian was going to answer everyone else. However, it was Kaia's outburst which made him turn back. He cared little for Cain's thoughts, that was the typical reaction when he told someone this.

"Fine, you think you successfully worked together because you turned off the shield. Here."

Adrian would wave his hand and Cain would become very aware of an intense burning almost all over his body, in his eyes. It was deep below his skin and wracking his very spirit. It would be constant, no waves, no breaks, no getting used to it. (Dmg: 200)

"That is the energy infection from the two crystals exploding, it hit both Cain and myself. I had completely blocked the pain and damage from Cain feeling it so we could take him for treatment later when the pain wouldn't be so bad. You killed an ally. I don't care if you defeat the ultimate evil in this world, if it costs the life of an ally you fail."

Adrian would let Cain suffer while Sam ran over.

"Adrian! Stop this now!"

Adrian would just keep staring at Kaia.

[Cain Rhamos]

Cain's eyes go wide, and for a half second, it's as if he can't feel anything at all, it's so intense.

Then, he drops to the ground, screaming in pain. His hands clench and unfurl, unable to even grab at anything because everything hurts. Just the act of rolling around on the grass feels like murder to him.
