Where does this even end? (Cara/Cillian/OPEN)

[Kaia Galanos]

Kaia would pop out of the water for a breath, casually swimming to the shore.

"There's a bunch of tunnels but it doesn't look really safe." she'd say, having been underwater when either of them spoke.

[Cara Dunn]

“Probably because it’s not.” Cara nodded at the ripples in the water, bow still trained on them. She’e Alr day accepted Kaia wouldn’t have heard her, but she wadn’t The only one above ground.

“Either you woke something up, darlin’, or you pissed it off.” Somehow she looks both concerned and excited.

[Zack Asiv]

A long blue scaled snout and eyes would pop up above the water looking at Cara. It however was still moving closer, only now it didn't seem to be disturbing the water. Spines poked above the water as well, there looked to be about twelve of them separated by almost a foot per spine.

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Watch out. Get out of the water."

Cillian, blade drawn would move to the water to try and assist or cover Kaia in getting out or backing her up should the beast attack.

[Cara Dunn]

My, what red eyes it had. Cara held the beast's gaze for a moment, noting it didn't immediately attack, just approached. Sleepy still, or curious to see what was poking around the lake? Either was, she lowered the bow so that the arrow was nocked, but pointed towards the water rather than the beast's face as it came up above water.

"Easy," she said quietly. With Cillian stepping towards the water but not waving his sward at the beast, she remained where she was, hoping it would continue to focus on her instead. Keeping its gaze, would bow, bending forward as best she could with a bow. And try not to think of the huge spines coming up out of the water along with it, the bubbles undisturbed.

"Sorry if we disturbed you."

[Kaia Galanos]

No one had to tell her twice. She'd glance back as she pulled herself out of the water, taking Cillian's offered help since the weight of her clothing made it slightly harder to get up.

She'd turn around to gaze at the beast, blinking a bit as if she was trying to make sense of what she was seeing.

It wasn't attacking, so Kaia would let the farm-girl do her thing. Not often you see someone speak to a beast like a person.

[Zack Asiv]

It halts it's advance at the girl speaking and bowing. It's eyes focus on her as the lizard eyes shrink into small slits. Finally it would raise it's head above the water to peer at them. It would crane it's neck up and then bend it's head down somewhat mimicing Cara.

[Cillian McWolfe]

Cillian unsure of what was going on would play along and would bow himself toward the beast, but he wasn't ready to sheath his blade. Yet.

"Can it understand us?"

Or was it just copying her?

[Kaia Galanos]

Kaia just quietly watches still, her eyes shifting towards Cara.

[Cara Dunn]

"They're smarter than people think." She took the headbob as a good sign, but also wondered if the lizard was copying her. "It depends from there, I believe."

To prove her point and test the figurative waters, she continued as she shook her head.

"Would you mind showing him if you can understand us by nodding again?"

Yes or no, it would prove a point.

[Zack Asiv]

The creature would stare between them it's eye's solidly focused and waiting. It even hesitated for a long time after being asked, but it did slowly nod.

[Cillian McWolfe]

Cillian slowly relaxed and lowered his blade. But he did not sheathe it yet.

"If you mean us no harm, then we mean you no harm."

He'd slay it if he had to, but if the creature was intelligent and peaceful. Then it would be a crime to do so.

[Cara Dunn]

"Thank you." Cara nodded again to emphasize her thanks, wondering how to explain to the beast in a way that wasn't going to offend it that they'd essential come to explore and possibly pick a fight, depending on who you asked.

"Like he said, we're not here to hurt you. We were looking around the area and found your lake." She assumed it was territorial, but it seemed pretty relaxed.

"Do you mind if we look some more?" They were pointed in this direction. Might as well make the most of it.

"Ask it if there're any secrets here." Kaia would whisper.

[Zack Asiv]

It would slowly shake it's head at Cara's question, maintaining it's eye contact on the group with a regal presence about it. Thats when Cillian could see the bush from earlier, something was moving in it's shadow.
