[Donovan]

Donovan scratched his head.

"No? I mean I just thought I broke my arm, I thought it was weird I couldn't feel it, but other than that I didn't think anything of it. Why? Do you think there should have been a reward."

[Qi Yanmei]

“At the very least some sort of compensation. You did risk yourself and suffered a grave injury.”

Min may be a tad money hungry though.

[Donovan]

He shrugged.

"I guess..."

[Qi Yanmei]

Min looks up at him.

“Ohhhh. Maybe you like her, then.”

Why else give a freebie?

[Donovan]

He tilted his head.

"No? I only met her the one time. I just... don't see the reason for money, I have my daily rations from the Academy as well clothing and gear. So, what good is payment if I have no use for it?"

[Qi Yanmei]

“Eh. People always need something. Compensation doesn’t just mean money. Could be a favour, a weapon, a house. A puppy.”

Those are just things she wants.

[Donovan]

"Hmmm..."

He thought.

"Well then... I guess you can look at it like this, I saved her and I got a badass new arm out of it, that works for me."

[Qi Yanmei]

“You’re pretty simple, then. That’s kinda nice.”

She holds up the arm that’s now on something of a ball joint. Then she swings it around so he can see the full range of motion it has!

[Donovan]

Donovan gets a little queasy at sed the arm move in ways it definitely shouldn't, but, it is what he asked for.

"That looks good. You are good at what you do, despite how you come across."

[Qi Yanmei]

"Seems a bit backhanded, but thanks. How do I come across, exactly?"

She starts installing a lock so that it's not just constantly floppy.

[Donovan]

"I don't mean it to be. It was meant as a compliment. It is good to be underestimated. You come across as inexperienced, clumsy, and very haphazard. But you are confident in skills and you do a good job. I am curious if you are as gold a fighter as you are a builder?"

He asked hopefully.

[Qi Yanmei]

"Oh, heavens no." she shakes her head.

"I'm none of the things you mentioned, just a bit eccentric, maybe."

Maybe.

"As for fighting, I'm as weak as they get. At least until I arm myself, but that's about it."

[Donovan]

Donovan pouted. He found yet another non combatant. Sigh...

"Whatever you say. Though, should you ever be interested in learning how to fight. I will teach you."

[Qi Yanmei]

"Hm. I suppose it would make this an even trade." Min would say thoughtfully, bringing the arm up to him in case he needed assistance putting it back on.

"Sure. You can teach me."

[Donovan]

He was beaming with happiness and excitement. He was moving so much he almost dislodge the arm that had just been reconnected to him.

"Excellent! Are you ready to start now!"
