Energy Duality (Brianna/Leon)

[Cillian McWolfe]

Cillian was letting Brianna lead the way to their destination.  He didn't know where to find the head of their family, but he was willing to talk to anyone that had the expertise needed to solve the puzzle about what was happening to his body, and with luck jump ahead of the Lightning Country and their research.  Also not die.  That was also a preference. 

"So where does he live?  Is it far, or do you all live in close proximity to each other?"

He knew a little bit about how the bloodline families worked, but only a little.  They were different enough that he was unsure on the rules that they lived by, or even how close knit they were.  But he did know many of them were seen as a big deal to certain territory leaders.  And so it was best to treat them with the respect one would give to minor nobility.  At least those high in the family hierarchy.

Brianna lead the way with ease, the way to seeing Byron one that was familiar enough. She nodded at the question, elaborating as they went.

"Close enough. We all live in Territory 259 or it's protectorates. If we end up having qi, we come to the academy. If we have signs of our bloodline, we go into special training, first, so we know what we're working with and how to control it before we start slinging around whatever other powers we have." There was a sense of pride and fondness. While Cillian's energy was concerning, he'd gone this long without blowing up, so she felt confident that they'd make it to their destination in one piece. "There's enough of us tree that a lot of us are barely related. And it's not all that far from the capital, so we should be there soon." She nodded with more confidence than before to help boost his own spirits as they went.

"And for your family, it has to do with your eyes. Correct? Like Soul Sight?"

He was told that he would want to find someone with that ability and that it was quite rare. Perhaps he had stumbled onto his answer already?

[Brianna Valdyr]

"Eh, something like that, though not all of us deal in souls like they do." She frowned for a moment, considering.

"Yeva mentioned how hers helps her with healing and stuff, right? Ours are a bit different. Me? I can see energy, but not your soul." She glanced back at Cillian. "But it still gives me a bit of an idea of who you are, too. Like I said, your energy is pretty positive and calm." And strong. She had some work ahead of her to surpass him.

"But yeah, it's our eyes. It's easy enough to spot once you know what to look for. But what about you? Anything like that for you back home?"

[Cillian McWolfe]

He shook his head.

"No, we don't really have any potent bloodlines. All of our skills are honed by training and dedication to our oaths. Many of us do not even have Qi to fall back on. I was fortunate enough to have been born with an affinity for Qi use but even had I, not my place and position would still be there for me. With every expectation that I work hard to be strong enough to deserve it, and the trust our people put in us."

[Brianna Valdyr]

Brianna nodded as he mentioned his position, and the people depending on him. Qi or not, he would still have his duty. She could appreciate that; he took it seriously.

"I think they're in good hands with you, then. It's pretty clear that you take the idea seriously."

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Thank you for the words of kindness. I still have a long way to go to be a worthy steward, but it is my hope to one day bring not only peace but happiness. Those that lived through the war focus so much on security, and I can only imagine the things they have seen to bring that mindset. I understand it is a reality to them, but if we are ever to truly put the past behind us, I also believe that we must relax as well. But that may just be my naivety speaking."

"Yeah..." Brianna's thoughts drifted to her own father for a moment at the mention of survivors from the war. Her first memories of him weren't ones of him being happy, that was certain. Her expression fell for a moment before she shook her head and set the thought aside.

"Maybe it's different for us since we weren't there, but if you can't have a tleast a little happiness, is it really even living?" She gestured in a wide, ambiguous circle to the land around them. "Some places have it harder than others, just like some people do. We should definitely try to bring peace, but if all people think of is when they'll lose it again, or how long it takes to get there, then what? It's just misery and holding on to a half-baked hope."

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Happiness is a luxury. I think that's what it boils down too. For so long people were and still are uncertain of how they will make it to the next day. And if you hold onto that for years, that burden becomes a part of you. I think some people may have even forgotten how to let go and relax. It would be nice to create a world where it's possible, not just for the strongholds of civilization, but for all of the outlying areas hit hardest by the war as well."

[Brianna Valdyr]

"True. If you're scraping by for food and water, you don't really have time to worry about other things." But it still wasn't really living. She got the idea, though, and nodded.

"One day. It would be nice to see more people smile." And she intended to help make that possible one day.

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Agreed."

He said with a smile of his own.

"It is nice to find someone of a like mind here at Cabal. I was expecting things to be much more regimented, I must admit."

[Brianna Valdyr]

"Yeah." She gave him a smile, more relaed as they went. Her thoughts drifted to her short time at Cabal with a small hum.

"I've been to a few classes, but most of the people I've met so far are pretty new, like me." She fell silent for a moment before adding, "Though, I guess it will be less relaxed soon with all these attacks popping up in big cities. It's not just the borders and barren lands anymore."

[Cillian McWolfe]

"Unfortunately, that is likely to be the case. Which is why I hope to get a handle on what is going on with me. I would rather be a solution than an obstacle."

He said as they arrived at their destination.

[Zack Asiv]

They would reach the training and operations compound of the Valdyr bloodline family. Many people were moving around the compound, standing in formation and getting instructions, or sparring in small training circles of dirt and sand. Probably looked rather familiar to Cillian.

A man would walk up and put his hands on his hips with a smile

"Hey, Yeva said you would be coming, this the guy?"

He would ask with a head nod towards Cillian as he turned to look at him.

"Hi, my name is Carter. I'm supposed to take you both straight to Byron, unless you have questions, or want to look around?"

"Most likely, yeah. I'm Cillian."

He said, extending his hand to Carter.
