Thank the gods.
Cain pulls himself up, then goes to sprint the rest of the way up. He doesn’t really want to run into any more monsters in the way.
N-not that he couldn’t beat them or anything...

Cain was able to make it to the summit. The burden was almost crushing him under it's invisible weight. Before the golden gates was Hermes looking almost bored, and then surprised as he looked up to see Cain there. Quickly leaping to his feet and pulling out a scroll he looked from Cain to the scroll and back to Cain. "Welcome Cain Rhamos, you have passed the trial to reach the summit. Drink from the chalice and know peace and enter." Hermes tucked the scroll away and pulled a chalice full of liquid from... somewhere. Offering it to Cain. |

Cain is basically crawling up the stairs at this point, on his hands and knees. As much as he wants to give some kind of snappy response, it takes all his effort to just take the chalice and drink it greedily.

Cain drinks the liquid to find it is sweet and delicious! His fatigue and injuries would vanish!

Remembering his manners, Cain gives a bit of a bow to who he's somewhat figured out is a God of some sort. Anyone who's managed to earn that title deserves respect in his eyes, regardless of position, because he knew it was not an easy task.
"Where... uh... I mean... can I... wait... I mean, may I ask where I'm supposed to go?"
He's trying.

At the Overlook he would find the Thrones of the major gods of the Greek pantheon. All of them made of stone with intricate engravings on them, facing each other to form a circle. The symbol of each God on the back and head of the throne that represented them. Among the thrones sat Ares, one leg over the other and an amused expression on his lips. "Congratulations. It's not every day someone scales the mountains. I am to understand that you have business with me?" |

Cain looks around in wonder, clearly awestruck at finally seeing Olympus properly. By the time he makes it to Ares, he quickly bows his head.
“Yes...Uh.... Lord Ares. I’m supposed to ask you about some meeting you were going to have with this chick who got killed by a snake? She likes Qi beasts?”
He’s not great at being formal.

"Since I'm investigating, I wanted to know what your meeting with her was about. Someone might've not liked it and wanted to make sure it didn't happen. Or wanted to blame somebody else to draw your ire on them."
He looks up from his bow.
"And I wanted to climb the mountain. Finally."

He pushed himself up from the throne. A faint clashing of blades echoing through the air for a brief moment.

"It isn't. I want to be a God, but traveling up the mountain isn't the only test. It can't be."

It was the main one, but it was the excuse he'd been looking for.
