He brushed it aside as casually as he was brushing Cain's chance at ascending to Godhood aside.

[Cain Rhamos]

He... he doesn't know how to feel about that.

This is a God, someone worthy of respect. But to get pushed aside like that...

"...I don't know how to undertake the tests. I wasn't told."

Then, as he remembers his manners.

"Lord."

[Lucifer]

"You've completed the first step. You have proven that you have the potential to hold a spark of divinity within you. You need only declare your intent to ascend and the Seat you intend to fill. Then you will be tested. But be warned, for the testing happens but once, and should you be found lacking there is no second chance."

[Cain Rhamos]

"Uh...."

Fuck. Fucking fuck fuck fuckerino.

"...can I ask... how do I know I'm ready?"

[Lucifer]

He smirked.

"Maybe that is part of the test, maybe you'll never be ready. Maybe it's impossible to be ready because you do not know how you will be tested."

He was enjoying this.

[Cain Rhamos]

"No wonder no one talks about it..."

Cain grits his teeth.

"...I can take it later though, right? I just started at Cabal, to be honest. I don't want to be a weakling compared to the real Gods who've earned their positions."

[Lucifer]

"Unless this here is the test."

He added coyly, folding his arms over his chest.

[Cain Rhamos]

"Ghk..."

Cain almost chokes on his spit.

This was not what he was expecting. He wanted to come up here, see the wonders of Olympus, maybe get an idea of the testing he would be up against and then head back down to train for it.

What if this was his only chance?

But what if this wasn't, and he was just wasting it if he tried now?

"All my life... I've wanted to be a God. Since I was old enough to understand the tales my family told me about them. Other kids would laugh and say they'd be Zeus, or Hades, or even you, Ares."

Cain clenches his hands into fists.

"But I knew who I was, from the very beginning. I am Deimos. God of Terror and Dread."

[Lucifer]

His smirk turned into laughter before he threw his arm back, the stone under their fell away, sending both Cain and Mathew down into the heart of the mountain. The heat from the volcanic forge of Hephaestus all around them as the fumes filled the air. Around them weapons hung on racks. Their platform suspended over the molten fire that powered the forge.

"Then come Deimos. Fill my heart with Terror and Dread. Show me your spark."

Mathew's hand stayed where it was, extended to the side. His mace flying into his hand before slabs of metal slammed against his body, forming the Armor of Ares. The God of War rode again.

Cain calls out in surprise as the landscape suddenly, DRAMATICALLY changes around them. The moment the world stops shifting, Cain steadies himself, watching as Ares summoned both armor and weapon to him.

"Fine. Prepare yourself, Ares."

He concentrates, trying to feel out the best option, before reaching out to grab one of the weapons off of the racks.

Hephaestus would be there hammering the anvil with raw metal when his fucking ceiling fell in and a challenger apparently chose now to take the trials.

He would quickly rush around trying to make sure the things that could be destroyed were put away somewhere!

Cain grabbed an imperfect version of the sword Harpē! The sword used to slay Medusa!

While wielding this blade Cain gets +10 Attack +10 Speed. Once per thread he may deal double damage with this blade. The blade shatters after this ability is used.

"Oh, going to go for my balls kiddo? My wife's been gunning for them for decades. I doubt you'll best her."

Cain holds the sword out in front of him, feeling its weight, its balance.

Then he looks to Ares.

"I wouldn't worry too much about that, if I were you."

Then, he starts sprinting straight for him!

Ares would swing his mace at the air between them. Cain would feel himself growing stronger as he charged at Ares, his muscles bulging and his heart pumping, though his vision would tunnel in on Mathew. He was the target, the enemy.

Normally, a person would be concerned about the sudden massive increase in physical attributes. However, focused as he is, Cain is single-mindedly determined on just one thing: proving what he can do to the God of War.

Just as he reaches attacking range, whether it be within Ares' mace or the Harpe's, Cain would suddenly shift direction, veering to the left while ducking low in an attempt to blow right past the God, aiming to get to his backside.
