Exploring Options (Nova/Daniel/Leif)

[Leif Adamson]

Prota. Even without Adelaide's comment, she would have known which diner belonged to the Metas. She stood outside of it, with her hands tucked carefully into the pockets of her jacket. She had no qualms with Prota, personally, though she had no love for it, either.

Taking a deep breath, she glanced around. Hopefully, it would be empty enough that she'd be able to talk to these people without anyone overhearing. Giving a shake of her head, Leif pushed open the door and entered the diner.

[Gunslinger]

"Welcome to Prota, how can we serve you?"

Almost immediately after Leif steps through the door, Daniel is already walking towards her with a menu tucked under an arm. He's been waiting for something to do for half an hour now, as it was a little too early for the dinner crowd to start coming in, and having a customer was already a bright spot of activity!

[Novocaine]

Nova's at the bakery counter decorating some of the fresh confections she just made. When the door open, she chimes in with Daniel, but, leaves the rest to him.

"Welcome!"

[Leif Adamson]

Leif nodded at both of the people, but her gaze got caught on Nova. Yep, definitely Metas. She looked at her cat ears for a moment, keeping her hands in her pockets.

"Uh. Hey. So I'm guessing you were... from Prota, then? Is that where the namesake and the..." She nodded over to Nova. "...the ears... came from?"

[Gunslinger]

Daniel's eyes narrow slightly, if only because most often those who remark on Nova's ears are usually anti-meta.

But, this could still go either way, so he doesn't get hostile yet.

"We are. Is that a problem?"

[Novocaine]

Nova's ears would pin back at the question, and she suddenly felt her guard go up a bit at the question about Prota. Mostly because no one ever spoke of the Prota they were from, anymore. Those who knew about it and weren't from there generally weren't huge fans, either.

[Leif Adamson]

She gave a shake of her head.

"No. It's not. It was just an assumption, and I'd rather know than guess." She glanced around at the place, taking in the way it all looked. It was a very nice place, in fact, and she was impressed with how well it all went together. She turned back to the man that was speaking to her. "I didn't get around to Prota much, after I left Cabal," she said, in hopes that it would calm him down a bit.

[Gunslinger]

"Most likely not."

Daniel nods.

Those who "visited" Prota tended to never leave.

[Novocaine]

"Did...someone send you?" Nova would ask cautiously, though she tried to seem polite about it.

[Leif Adamson]

"Not exactly." She shrugged her thin shoulders. "Some girl on the beach mentioned that some of us had a diner around here, and I wanted to come check it out for myself. I've been just sort of half-ass existing since I got to this place, and... I think it's really cool that you guys managed to put something like this together."

[Gunslinger]

"We are doing our best to continue on with our lives in this new world."

Daniel nods, and his hand that isn't holding the menu slowly slides away from his waist, visibly relaxing.

[Novocaine]

Nova seems to relax at the answer as well, her ears easing back to their usual spot.

"We found doing something dramatically different than when we were in the old world made for an interesting change."

[Leif Adamson]

She nodded thoughtfully. She had spent every moment she could since arriving here trying to figure out how she could do exactly what she was doing before: travel. That idea went out the window, however, when Drake informed her of the ban this city had. If they were on lockdown, there was only so much traveling she could do.

"How did you manage to get the funds to start up a place like this? I've been trying to figure out how to get the money to buy smokes, and that's difficult enough as is."

[Gunslinger]

"Took out a loan, did some odd jobs."

Daniel shrugs.

"Being productive members of society seems to pay off for us, so far."

[Novocaine]

"It works better when you're not an obvious meta but...some people are nicer than others." She laughs sheepishly.
