Just a Beach... Right? (Yanmei/Open)

[Qi Yanmei]

Yanmei goes up to the shore just to dip her feet into the water, waving at Katsu.

"I found you a new friend!"

[Katsu]

Katsu turns to look, eyes widening a little bit! He hadn't expected that in the slightest.

"Oh. Well... alright. I'll happily have a duel, then."

He wades his way out of the water.

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would grin wide and look at Yanmei giving her a thumbs up. He'd give Katsu a bit of space and hold a hand out to shake.

"Spike Sudeki, Two Sword Style."

[Qi Yanmei]

She grins back at Spike and gives him a thumbs up back.

She'll just watch for the moment.

[Katsu]

"Maeda Katsu, Jigen-Ryu style if I had to choose, but it's more of a basis than a true style."

He shakes Spike's hand firmly!

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike returns the firm and respectful grip before nodding.

"Alright, should we use the back of the blades, or go to first blood?"

He didn't mean in the cutting off limbs or impaling someone, but a cut is a cut. Once the rules were decided on that Spike would give a look to Yanmei then back to Katsu.

"Would you rather no Qi either?"

[Katsu]

"First blood is likely best. Then we're not having to work with the opposite grip."

Katsu nods.

"Well... if you use Qi, then Yanmei would have to get involved, since she's mine."

He gives a little chuckle.

[Sage Sudeki]

"I'm not so confident I think I could take on two people at once. Heh, no Qi it is then."

He'd back up a few paces and pull the cloth wrapped blade out and unwrap it revealing the blue crystals of the blade.

"On your go."

He'd grip the other blade's handle in it's sheath with a reverse grip in his left hand.

[Katsu]

Katsu holds his blade in front of him, diagonally across his body, before pulling a foot back and pointing it towards Spike.

"Ready."

Then, after a beat, he shifts the angle of the blade, swiping it diagonally down and left towards Spike's chest and shoulder while putting his full weight behind the slash!

[Sage Sudeki]

Taking a knee as the slash came in he would lift the handle of the crystal blade angling it down along his body to allow Katsu's sword to slide along it and deflect away.

Pushing with his foot to shift to the other knee he would draw the other sword like a very long dagger in a fast slash for Katsu's calf.

[Katsu]

Katsu shifts his weight as the blade slides down Spike's, sliding his leg back.

The sword cuts into his pants, but just narrowly doesn't meet the skin!

Katsu reverses his grip on his sword, suddenly swiping it upwards in a backhanded uppercut towards Spike's head. He's careful, of course, in that if it feels like it'd hit solidly, Katsu would pull the swing upwards even more to just catch the very top.

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would dodge roll like he were playing a souls-type game away from the slash and to the side, slashing down with the crystal blade vertically, and twisting the other blade around to a traditional grip.

His smile was wide, but not open cause sand and he didn't have time for that to get in his mouth. This guy was skilled for sure, there was a great amount of precision and force, Spike could tell they are at least on par with each other in most aspects of their swordplay. This would come down to likely the first mistake.

[Katsu]

Katsu slides his exposed leg back once Spike had rolled away, pulling himself back from the slashing blade with millimeters to spare.

This one was definitely faster than himself, and evidently slightly stronger as well. The only thing he could have going for himself was technique.

Katsu pulls back his blade with him, drawing it horizontal to himself, before stabbing forward at Spike's chest. Once again, he's using his full weight, intending on making it more difficult for only one arm to block or parry his attack.

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would retract his blades as he saw Katsu's long blade coming in for the thrust. Side stepping and using both blades as a cross guard against Katsu's own sword to keep it to the side, Spike would also step in aiming to slam his own forward knee against Katsu's to turn him away, or at least awkwardly twist his lower body to lessen the strength he could use to bat him away or slash at him.

He'd hopefully be able to use that to step passed Katsu and aim to cut his shoulder as he passes sliding his blades along his thrust.

[Katsu]

Katsu aims to keep moving with his thrust, as his leg is struck, causing him to jostle a little as he does so.

He brushes past Spike, turning in a backhanded swing-

before suddenly stopping, looking down at his upper arm, where a small line of red has been drawn from his bicep to his tricep.

"...ah. I guess that's technically it."
