We Meet Again [David/Open]

[Kyrie Blaze]

It seemed as though Cabal and 259 as a whole may have bitten off more than it could chew. Kyrie has returned to the courtyard. Her skin felt tight, and naturally she was still in some decent pain. Lotion and medication - the latter of which a hassle considering it took ages to kick in and then also did funky things to her body - were currently her best friends. She surveyed what was left of the entrance, having done what she had to do.

The blonde was still uncertain of whether this was the best course of action.

After all, Cabal’s defences weren’t anything to sniff at, nor were the protections placed on those enrolled.

Which meant that if killing David before had been practically improbable, now it was almost impossible. And then there was the issue of even being able to harm him.

A hand lifted from its easy resting spot against the hilt of her sword, sifting through her short locks of hair.

Kyrie would find a way through.

She always did.

As she came around the corner, she'd see David there in a crouch, hand on the shoulder of a young boy no more than eight or nine. His words were silent, evidence that he was holding back their words with the air around them. As she approached, his head turned to look at her sharply. Before the bubble vibrated and pushed past her in a small whoosh.

"Remember what I said, and go now."

As he stood the boy ran off, and David would casually reach over to pull his sword. He held it at his side and tilted his head.

"If you came for a second round, I'd rather we did this somewhere more remote. I'd prefer my academy intact."

His eyes glanced at her gauntlet, but otherwise turned back to her gaze.

Kyrie fell to a stop and at the same time her hand lowered to rest against the hilt of the sword, almost casually, though her eyes were heavy with scrutiny as the pop of the bubble ruffled her hair and the edges of her clothing. Her gauntleted hand curled loosely over the butt of the hilt, and a brow was slow to raise.

"If I came for a second round, it would not be after our academy suffered an attack." Her head slowly tilted, the corners of her eyes crinkling in a brief...squint, maybe. In truth she was pondering over the boy, and what words she might have been able to catch from lip reading. "Then again, it seems as though there has been some exterior decorating as of late, so even if I did, it would only enhance what is broken."

So far she didn't move.

David's tension eased only a little.

"Our Academy?" His head titled to the side a little. So she was a member, now. She was way stronger than most the others, so why join as a trainee? He'd resheath his sword, glancing at the windows. Kyrie, being a sneaky fucker, would indeed pick up a few words from reading lips.

"You...tell parents. Okay...just...forward. Remember what I said, and go now."

David rested his hand on his his hilt as well, his brow furrowing. What was her name again? Kyrie? He had no idea about her last name. So he'd ignore the tickle in the back of his mind and proceed.

"Tends to happen when a territory is invaded secretly. But they barely made it past the gates, so clearly we did something right."

The tricksiest of Hobbitses, Kyrie was.

"While suffering heavy casualties. They will not make that mistake again. Next time it will be more mechanical weaponry, stronger soldiers, and it will not be an attack from one location, but several." Her head slowly tipped the other way. "At least, if they were smart. And with what has been going around across the media platforms..."

[David B.]

David nodded.

"We're prepared, now. We've increased patrols, and called up the army of 259. We were able to do that much damage with just the elite here. Imagine what happens when those who've graduated and joined the armed forces are stationed here. It'll be a blood bath."

He'd furrow his brow.

"What's your last name, Kyrie?"

He'd need to watch this one.

"Either way, it will be a bloodbath, and I doubt my sister would be pleased."

Her shoulders moved almost haphazardly, a casual motion. His question, though, that bore a mere moment of consideration, followed immediately by the knowledge she wouldn't lie to him, not even now.

"Blaze is my last name, though originally I was a Barrial."

[David B.]

His brow twitched.

"I'm sorry? Blaze?"

He'd slowly look her up and down.

"How?"

"Through marriage to you."

Perhaps it would have been amusing to have said through Damien, but now wasn't the time for games. If he at all remembered he wouldn't be asking these questions. So for now she watched him closely, searching for any sign that wasn't just her being wishful.

[David B.]

She would notice nothing.

"So that's why she slapped me, then."

He combed a hand back through his hair absent mindedly.

"I'm sorry. I don't remember you."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Why who slapped you?"

She could perhaps guess, but would rather hear it straight from the horse's mouth. Her expression was schooled to neutrality, and hardly shifted when he stated he couldn't recall her.

"I expected as much. I doubt you did when I was coming for you last time, as well."

[David B.]

He shook his head.

"Even that was a blur. They don't normally give us full access to our strength, so they gave me a few extra bands, to help manage it."

He'd glance down, then back up.

"And Arianna. She's your sister, right? She about took my head off when she arrived."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"A few extra bands..?" She queried, her brow rising with the question.

Both brows peaked a moment before they moved back down again. Arianna did? Actually? Well...she could guess the kind of reaction she was likely to get.

"She is, yes. And while it is hard to believe it is not entirely out of the realm of possibility. She wasn't aware you were...alive. Or your brother, and myself."

[David B.]

He scratched his head.

"That's...unfortunate. I wasn't aware my brother was alive either, though. So."

He'd pull up the arms of his jacket, revealing two black bands that looked kinda like a fitbit.

"These. They regulate my strength, so im not a threat to those here."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Considering her emotional investment in Damien, and in myself, I should say her reaction was justified, even if you presently did not remember it. Did she apologise, at least?"

Blue eyes studied the bands.

"Just those two?" If so...that tech was more powerful than she had first anticipated...and that could be troublesome.
