We Meet Again [David/Open]

[Kyrie Blaze]

This was a delicate line she was walking, and if she strayed but a little it seemed like the world would be lost to ruin. Knowing David’s strength it might not be an inaccurate thought. Before that could happen, though, she’d take him down...and this time she would finish the job, Cabal or no.

Locking herself in to Cabal made things both easier and more difficult with the academy protocols.

“The way I see it, it would not hurt to try.” She blinked. “Well. It would hurt, of course.”

But not for long if she had any say in the matter.

“I am starting to think you are too far gone for anything to work, even that.”

Perhaps it would be best to have a witness, and if she could be convincing enough...they would believe it. But just in case, Kyrie didn’t relinquish her stretched shadow. She could be a sneaky, tricksy hobbitses and follow, if only to better gauge what was going on. Then there was the matter of the kid...

[David B.]

“I see. Perhaps you’re right- I know nothing else. And I have to say- I really do like my hands where they are.”

He kept them in his pockets.

“But if it really is your mission, you are free to make the attempt. The security protocol is off, now. It won’t stop you.”

That was funny; she didn’t like where his hands were at, at all. The invitation was extended in challenge...

And before David finished speaking she had snapped into the shadows and into his own before popping out again. As she emerged six chains plunged outward from her back and moved to encircle David’s forearms and extend outward in one fell swoop; which enabled her to draw her sword as her intent was to cut off the hand nearest to her.

The chains from his other hand, meanwhile (and assuming she was successful in cooking them around his forearm), would attempt to plunge into his hand.

It was an assault on multiple fronts, even if he knew what her target was, she was trying to

David stood and watched her as a moment of silence stood between them. Clearly, she was contemplating his offer. As she vanished, David stayed right where he was her Qi successfully wrapping around his arms. But rather than draw them out, he flexed, keeping his arms perfectly deposited inside his pants. His sword unsheathed itself as David’s powers would be in control of it, meeting her blade as she drew it.

“I admire your tenacity.”

He’d start running forward in a full sprint, making the assumption that her Qi chains were not able to stretch vast distances, like Ariannas. If she held on, her body would be jerked forward, and David would be looking back with a smirk.

It was either let go, or come along for a ride. Either way, she’d deal with the Storm Blade, which would be slashing for her abdomen now, intent to spill her blood.

OOC: combating her ENG with ATK, 52 vs 38. Sword attack and speed = 47

Good thing for her...they could extend just like Arianna's. However, David moved too fast for her to immediately react, and so...she went for a ride.

A slight smile flickered over her lips for a brief moment at his words, and two of her chains disengaged from his arms and moved to parry the sword, with the other wrapping around it. It wasn't with the aim to contest or redirect the sword for the moment, but to keep it from spilling her guts absolutely everywhere. The chains themselves began to stretch by degrees, giving her a small amount of breathing room, while two of the four remaining chains shot up to encircle his neck.

Not to cut off his air flow, no, but instead to cease the blood flow to his brain long enough for him to pass out.

David spun about in a sudden 180 degree turn and shot back at her directly, intent to superkick the woman right in the stomach. With the added momentum of her thrill ride, his hope would be to put her out.

Whether it worked or not, stones from the ground would lift up around them and fire at her Qi threads, aiming to hit the spikes and knock them far off course. This would hopefully prevent them from getting close enough to wrap around his neck. If it didn’t work, he’d just have to remove his hands from his pockets.

And that kinda defeated the point, didn’t it?

Kyrie had purposefully kept close to her opponent. Too many times she'd tried and failed with fighting him along the outer wall, and so far she had been intent on staying within the eye of the storm. True she wouldn't have nearly enough time to react effectively, but David's prowess in fighting at a distance hadn't lessened, and she was weaker than she had been five years ago.

And then there was the issue of his hands in his pockets.

That just wouldn't do.

But with David's sudden turn she simultaneously pushed with the chains closest to his striking leg and pulled with the other, hoping to turn her body somewhat - to turn it just enough - that she could stave off a direct hit. He was fast, though, too fast for her to effectively maneuver herself out of the way, and her breath shot from her lungs with a sharp exhale along with the blow. She tasted blood, and though she coughed under her breath her free hand gripped his ankle as those chains moved, one acting as a guard for the other going for his neck in a last-ditch attempt to bring him down, just for a moment.

But the edges of her vision were dark, a worrying sign, even though now she was able to look at him, directly. Her lips twitched in a smile and she dragged herself further inwards and slightly up in a quick jolt, looking to slam her head into his nose.

David cocked a brow at her catch, his eyes watching as she leapt forward. Most people might leap back, but David instead flew up. Shooting straight up into the air, David would fly about twenty feet before bending his right knee and flying right back down at her, intent to smash his knee into her chest as he'd cause them to crash into the ground.

If it worked, the dust would clear to him, pinning her to the ground with that knee.

Hands still in his pockets.

"You aren't yet strong enough to do what you're trying to do, Kyrie Blaze. If you truly want me...what is it you say, free? Then you'll take a beat to grow a little. You're too eager."

Still, he'd be ready if she pressed the attack.

Everyone loves a slinkee~

Or so the song went, anyway. With David bursting up and away and her chains contracting to be able to bring her in closer for that wonderful headbutt...Kyrie flew with him, the chains bringing her close. Closer, still, though not quite fast enough, because things after happened too fast for her reaction, and David's knee collided with her stomach and they crashed into the ground shortly after, to devastating effect. She could feel the ripple of pain through her scarred body, and was dimly aware of a few cracks and pops.

Her vision was reduced drastically, but her qi chains remained wrapped around his arms, with the others around the sword and the other set vying for his neck. But the ones coiled against the sword shifted, bringing the blade with a grunt of pain to have the blade hover a few inches away from his right arm.

Surprise.

It didn't move, however, considering she was trying to catch her breath and it was...uncomfortable at best to move.

"You invited me to attack you... I would hardly be myself if I did not take the opportunity presented." Kyrie began, a wheeze in her tone. "Ngh, but I am not your enemy, nor here to cause undue harm...and I know when and where to pick my battles."

In truth she would have preferred to press harder in search for any other signs that David, somehow, might still be present. But at risk to her body? As it was there would be eyes on her from this, she wagered. Still, she needed to know where she stood and how far she could press. So, for now, she remained prone where he'd driven her into the ground, the chains that had been going for his neck ceasing their attempts. Otherwise, she wasn't about to let go unless this was a ceasefire in truth.

He nodded, and would move to slowly stand up and off her. He'd bring his left hand out of his pocket and offer it to her, to help her up.

It might offer a tempting target as well.

It was tempting, and those blue eyes slipped down to blink at the extended hand before she gingerly reached up to clasp it for the helping hand up. Her chains shuffled, uncoiling from around his arms and the others turning the sword to offer it to him, hilt first. She'd already come to the conclusion that ridding one wrist of a bracelet wouldn't do anything. It would have to be both at once, and if nothing else she would prefer to only have to cut off one hand.

There was a bracelet on each.

And then there was the added fact that she didn't know what consequences there would be aside from the established one that David's strength would billow out that much more...she knew nothing of what it might do to his mind.

So, the chains contracted back to a manageable length and supported her weight.

Surely she'd broken something, considering the pain.

Qi uses: 9/19

[Zack Asiv]

Asiv was falling from the sky! Landing near by with his knee's completely bent he would get to a standing position pulling the bent cig from his mouth and blowing out a plume of smoke. He'd walk over to the two Dragons fighting on Cabal grounds.

"You seem hell bent to remove his bindings Miss Barrial, so let me show you something."

He'd reach his right arm out as super heated air swirled around it. His face scrunching into a growl as he concentrated. The swirling wind would move to the bracelets and Zack would close his hands. The hot swirling wind would surround the bracelets only. He would pull his hand back to himself with a grunt, a bead of sweat moving down his face, strain obvious in his form before the bracelets would finally break, shattering into nothingness.

Putting the cig back into his mouth with a sigh he would turn and wave behind him.

"May take a few days... We'll see."

With that he would just keep walking away.

David cocked a brow, his bracelets coming off the first time in...what, eight years? They'd fall to the ground, and the young Blaze massaged his wrists. Bending, he'd pick them up, holding them aloft.

"I question the wisdom of not wearing these...but at least she can see, I am who I am."

He'd offer them to Kyrie.

[Kyrie Blaze]

...

Well that just happened..? Kyrie's blue eyes blinked rapidly, unsure if it actually happened or not. Her eyes veered to Asiv's retreating form and she frowned, unsure if this was some sort of trick despite David rubbing his wrists, as though they were really gone. Damnit, if that's how easy things were, she should have asked him to take them off years ago.

The blonde's lips pressed into a line, unsure of what treachery this was, what trickery.

As far as she was concerned, nothing was that easy.

"...you have been wearing them for years...I doubt the effects will miraculously be reversed." Her eyes finally roamed back so she could tip her chin up and look at him.

And damn her heart for its hope at the same time.

He scratched the back of his head.

"To be honest...I'm not sure what would make Asiv do this. Save to prevent a similar issue as the last time we fought."

His brow furrowed, and he flexed his fingers. The feeling in his chest was an odd one. Like a door had been unlocked to way more feelings than he was used to.

"What if you're wrong, hm? And I never change to this man you remember?"
