We Meet Again [David/Open]

[Kyrie Blaze]

Kyrie let out a hum of consideration at Damien's words, and...holding his gaze, nodded once.

"So...you said apparently you killed someone. What details do I need to know about that?" She was going to need to know, she figured. Whether it would come in handy or in play she couldn't tell. But she had a laundry list of rocks to turn over, and anything that could possibly help would do well to be known.

[Damien Blaze]

His brow furrowed.

"Nothing, really. It's like I told Arianna, it was like being in a dream. I knew I was doing actions but it was like someone else was in the driver seat. It reminded me of...."

Silence for a moment, then a heavy breath.

"Him."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Hm." She huffed an exhale, albeit brief, considering she winced right after.

[Damien Blaze]

Damien kept looking her over. Sure was taking the doctors a while.

"Sean Barker was the only one capable of something like this. He's lost most of his former contacts and power but much of his research and facilities still exist. I suspect, at some point, I was taken to one and indoctrinated. I just...don't know where, or when."

[Kyrie Blaze]

The doctors could take their sweet time. They probably had more pressing injuries to deal with. Still.

Probably.

"Is there a way to undo that, if what you are proposing is true?"

[Damien Blaze]

He shrugged.

"I assume it was programming for a singular purpose, but who knows. I suppose the King in two will be able to tell me."

[Kyrie Blaze]

"Provided there is not something underhanded going on in Two as well. They did just break from the accords with several other territories not long ago. It would be derelict to not consider the possibility they planted you here."

[Damien Blaze]

He shrugged.

"Maybe, but I doubt it. They'd know I'd try to come get whatever they wanted of my own free will rather than have a mindless puppet. I got beat by someone who was missing limbs. Clearly something was wrong."

[Kyrie Blaze]

Or clever staging. Kyrie lifted a brow but said nothing, for the moment.

Anything was possible, after all, so what she said and what he said both could fight to be the truth.

"I suppose we shall see... For David and Arianna's sake, I hope it is not."

[Damien Blaze]

"Mm. Indeed."

He looked over at her.

"Kyrie....why did you come back? I thought...joining Cabal would be the last thing you'd ever do."

[Kyrie Blaze]

”Some goals call for sacrifices, be they temporary or permanent.”

Her gaze was calm, but firmly settled on him. He knew.

He gave the softest of smiles.

"If every anyone could have ever doubted your level of devotion, I'd like to see their face now."

He laughed.

”I am fine with people underestimating me.”

Her lips curved slightly.

It made it easier to slip a noose around a neck, or slide a knife between ribs.

He smirked.

"Of course. It's their funeral."

He'd look to the clock.

"They'll be releasing me soon. I think I found someone who can help with our predicament back in two."

[Kyrie Blaze]

”Is that so? And you thought you would have difficulty turning stones over from there but you have been cuffed here and found that out, hm?”

An eyebrow lifted despite the faint sound of footsteps growing louder.
