"Mm."
He used a hand to brush off his stomach lightly, some dust fluffing away as he healed.
"I'm sorry- you wanted me to tell you what I thought of you, and I ended up telling you my own story. You see Tina...you're not that special. Not on your own."
He looked at the small girl, her cheeks flushed with anger.
"You're so busy being angry, so busy thinking you have to crush and blast and make noise and impress- you don't stop even for a second to think that some part of you will fail, or that you can be better than even you think is possible. You take on too much, too quickly, and one of two things happens. You reach your potential, feared by many, reviled by a few and evil as fuck....or dead. Many times both."
He would put both his hands in his pockets.
"I am sorry to hear about your family- and whether you want to hear it or not, you are capable of greatness, at a level not seen since the early years of the great war. But you are doing it wrong. And if your pride and selfish ways are too far gone to realize that, then why the hell should I or anyone else continue wasting time on the eighteenth in line for a worth nothing plot of dirt?"
He continued staring.

"You're forgiven. Now give it back." She held out her hand for the saber, still angry, still fuming, but possibly listening. What part she was focused on was still in question. She'd even continue talking to him!
"And WHAT is the right way?" Scowling again, but not attacking or blowing things up.

"Depends on what kind of person you want to be. Have you thought at all beyond power, fame, glory? Or are those childish concepts still all you can think about?"
He'd hold out a hand, her stick flying over and landing in it. He didn't hand it back yet though.

"I was going to go back home." She shrugged at his question. "Where else would I go, anyway?"

"I wasn't aware you had a home."
He stared.

"No, I blew it up." Old man memory. She shrugged again.
"It's still my territory, one way or another." She snorted. "What, you want me at Cabal forever like some fosterling?"

He sighed. He obviously meant her territory. But he'd let it slip by.
"So short sighted."
He would gesture at the school.
"Cabal is a focal point, and not meant to be a station for anyone permanently save for those of us required here by the accords or who wish to have a say in the new blood of the world." He'd shrug. "If I was you, I'd found my own territory. Fuck daddy dearest. Grow strong, gain that fame and wealth and power, safe guard those unable to protect themselves and once you're revered enough, do what Leon did. Take some of your own land. Or stay in 259 and become a leader. Something other than returning to papa's skirts to suckle the teat of those ahead of you in line or whittle away your years trying to kill each of them off to have a chance at it yourself. Small missions are for small minds. You really want to be more, know your place, until you are capable of outgrowing it."
He tossed her the nightstick.
"Or don't and die in obscurity, just another waste standing in your fathers shadow."

Tina decided not to share the dream once she got back to Territory One, listening to David's speech with wary appreciation. She wouldn't have to be stuck her, as she expected, but what she would do and where she would go? That was something she'd thought of. The question was where she'd start. Or what she'd claim.
Taking over her own territory could be as much fun, if not more so than taking over daddy dearest's.
"How do I start?" Her hand gripped the nightstick as she put it away.

He grinned.
"I already told you- you're too weak for that. Clearly you didn't understand what I meant, since you took my words as an affront to your physical prowess instead of what I was really talking down to."
The smile was back. He didn't mean she was unable to fight- she was too mentally weak. Thinking she could get him to give her all this info, without telling him anything in return, only to have him lay the path at her feet for something he had no intention of constructing yet? Silly child.
"Figure it out yourself, Tina. Once that realization hits you and you make the proper changes...the pieces will fall into place, and if you care to ask it of me, I'll be more than happy to help you along at the time."
Assuming her intentions were more than the fickle destruction drive she had now, of course.
He'd start walking away.

He kept smiling at her as he spoke, almost like he was amused or teasing. She didn't like it, but she listened. For now.
"Fine." She'd start to follow David!

He stopped, turning around to look at her.
"What are you doing?"

"I'm coming with you." Duh. What did he think she was going to do, crawl up a bunch of loose rock?

He scowled.
Throwing out a hand, electricity and wind would hit the mountain, dust and dirt blasting past them as he shredded the ground with his Qi.
There were now perfectly imprinted stairs leading up.
He started leaving again.

David stops again....glances back at her, then keeps walking.
"Stay close, and don't blame me if you die."
