Mental Information
Personality: Matrim is stubborn to say the least. He is very strongly opinionated about certain things, and has a moral compass to which he expects everyone to follow. If they do not he usually speaks up against it, but if he says nothing it's because he is planning something against you, or he needs your help. He is generally nice, but can be a bit eccentric when it comes to fighting. He is obsessed with fighting people and becoming stronger. He hates winning fights over and over, because it's boring. He loves being given a challenge because it means he still has further to go, which means he has more time to spend getting stronger. He has a few different moods that he can be in, and depending on his mood he can change from a very happy go lucky person to a serious 'good guy' type person, to being a monster of a man hellbent on trying to cause you serious harm. It really depends on if he is pissed off, if he is really happy, or if he is uncomfortable or unable to be himself around someone.
Likes: Reira, Fighting, Whiskey, Music.
Dislikes: Dishonorable Fighters, Two Faced People,
Mentality/Ideal/Belief: "Become the strongest, the toughest, the best in order to honour my father."
Physical Information
Build: A farm boy build. Lots of muscles, though he tends to hide it under his clothing a bit.
Defining Marks: Surgical scar over his chest.
Description: He is average height, average build with a lot of muscle added on. He often wears a variety of clothing styles, but for comfort sticks to a pair of jeans and a white button down sleeveless shirt left unbuttoned. He also does not wear anything on his feet if he can help it, he loves being barefoot outside for some odd reason. He never wears hats or bandanna's on his head, and usually wears his hair out long now. He has been known to wear a suit from time to time when the occasion calls for it, but otherwise he dresses in whatever makes him feel comfortable. He has one bandanna that he keeps as a memento which is the old bandanna from the St. Paragons Enforcement Squad, and he has one other piece of jewelry. The Black Venetian Glass Ring that Matrim was given by his Fiance Reira when she went on her trip to Venice. She has the feminine version of the ring, and they are the rings for their engagement.
Fighting Information
Fighting Style: WWE Wrestling/Boxing/Kickboxing/Judo
Years Practiced:6/9/8/4
Description of style:
WWE style wrestling is a flashy way of grappling which has devastating strikes and submission style moves. These moves are often faked and are not given the full strength that can be used because some of them are potentially lethal, meaning the people who use them hold back a lot for safety reasons. These attacks are slow and take time to set up usually, and can leave tons of openings since they are often just for show.
"Boxing (sometimes also known as Western boxing or pugilism) is a combat sport where two participants, generally of similar weight, fight each other with their fists. Boxing is supervised by a referee and is typically engaged in during a series of one to three-minute intervals called rounds. Victory is achieved if the opponent is knocked down and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds (a Knockout, or KO) or if the opponent is deemed too injured to continue (a Technical Knockout, or TKO). If there is no stoppage of the fight before an agreed number of rounds, a winner is determined either by the referee's decision or by judges' scorecards." --Jacked from Wiki
"Kickboxing (キックボクシング ?) refers to the sport of using martial-arts-style kicks and boxing-style punches to defeat an opponent in a similar way to that of standard boxing. Kickboxing is a standing sport and does not allow continuation of the fight once a combatant has reached the ground." --Jacked from Wiki
"Judo (柔道 ,jūdō?), meaning "gentle way", is a modern Japanese martial art (gendai budō) and combat sport, that originated in Japan in the late nineteenth century. Its most prominent feature is its competitive element, where the object is to either throw one's opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue one's opponent with a grappling manoeuvre, or force an opponent to submit by joint locking the elbow or by executing a choke. Strikes and thrusts (by hands and feet) — as well as weapons defences — are a part of judo, but only in pre-arranged forms (kata) and are not allowed in judo competition or free practice (randori)." --You guessed it, jacked from Wiki
Overall Strengths: He is tough and determined. While he is physically strong and average in height it allows him to fight to the best of his ability. He is skilled with wrestling, and it is definitely a mistake to grapple with him. He is also very good at catching on to attack patterns that have been used on him before, and is very good at blocking objects that are thrown at him.
Overall Weaknesses: He tends to go for big moves that take a lot of time to get people into. There are tons of openings in his wrestling style moves and there are also usually ways to reverse them. He's got a weak heart, and while he is tough and can keep going, he does have his limits. When he is physically drained and his endurance craps out on him, he becomes short of breath and becomes an easy target.
History Information
History: Pre-650 History: Son of Luke Gallagher, and a mother he never knew, Matrim was named after his father's only close male friend at PHS 253. His father taught him to fight, and work out as much as possible mentioning something about going to a school for fighting when he was old enough. However, his father soon fell to a heart disease passed on by Matrim's grandfather Liam. Luke had taught Mat a few rules. First was to do his best to make the world a better place, at any costs. This gave Mat a strong sense of justice. The only other thing his father taught him, one of the most important things was to have manners. The last thing his father gave him before he died was a necklace with a black venetian glass ring. Something he said came from a woman he loved. It was the only thing besides money that his father left to him. Mat didn't listen to this all of the time. For the most part he was very stubborn and self glorifying, thinking of himself as a just person. He would come off as rude if it wasn't for his shy quality. After Luke passed away Matrim put his inheritance away into an account that he could use in case of an emergency. Mat used every cent to be trained to be one of the strongest people possible. Or more accurately, one of the toughest people ever. The only problem was when he got into a fight with some thugs and it ended with two dead bodies and Mat covered in their blood. They had bullet wounds, the only thing not sending Mat to jail was, he wasn't the one holding the gun. They were. His finger prints weren't around. He spent most of the inheritance to keep him from being sent to prison. Managed to get sent to a school-like prison. Either way he'd probably get to fight more people there.
Afterall, what else was there to do in prison then work out.
650 History: After meeting his girlfriend Reira DeMorvick and becoming friends with Alex Hikari, the golden boy of the powerful Hikari Industries which built and funded 650, Matrim was willing to do anything to get him and Reira out of that prison school. Multiple schemes and plans were put into motion, until finally one worked. Finally he broke out having gotten himself and his girlfriend a job at Hikari Industries, allowing them passes to get out of the prison. The very same night they both broke out and made their way to the nearest dock's to get onto a ship sailing to Alaska. This didn't work out, as Lunari Awren caught them and brought them back to 650, just in time for a siege on the school. Matrim fought in the Paladin War, he was on the front lines, his shield proved useful until it wore down. Just when it started to break he retreated to the core with Lina Sabir. The school was over run, and Matrim escaped the prison during the panic. He was separated from his girlfriend Reira......
Point Hope History: Matrim recently coming out of a surgery to remove a malfunctioning device that Solaris Awren installed in Matrim's head, he had lost his memory. However, he had people searching for Reira DeMorvick using the money that he had gotten from Royalties since he last dried up his accounts. Having family members that were famous musicians allowed him to get the rights to royalties since they had all passed away. When his people found Reira, they sent Matrim to the school. His memory wasn't fully recovered, but he knew the basics. He met back up with Reira, who seemed glad to see him, but almost seemed unsure after finding out he lost most of his memories. Matrim did however get into a fight for the School Captain position of the newly opened school, with none other then Alex Hikari, who was no longer the rich poster boy after being caught aiding Matrim and Reira's escape attempt. He too, was a prisoner of sorts.
Matrim beat Alex for the title, and during the fight his memory came back. Something about fighting Alex again sparked the senses and slowly brought it all back. At first it all seemed like science fiction, but he accepted the fact that he had a Qi, and he took up his new position as School Captain, and rejoined Reira DeMorvick. Through plenty of struggles, and even a few fights between his girlfriend and himself, he ended up going through a lot. Probably too much to name here. However, in the end he lost his title. Or rather forfeited it under the influence of two powerful mental Qi's. He shrugged it off though, he'd make sure the new chick, Lina Sabir, could fight. But aside from that he didn't want the title. He knew he was the strongest at the school. That is, the strongest student. What Matrim wanted, however, was more strength. He wanted to fight the strongest. Not to beat them, but to last in a fight with them. He enjoyed fights. Possibly a little too much, but in his eyes fighting was what he was good at, and what he wanted to do. So he left Alaska, to go pursue stronger fighters elsewhere in California. He did not leave his girlfriend, whether she came or not was entirely up to her. He'd be with her soon enough either way. And hopefully, she'd agree to marry him.
In any case, Matrim now headed to sunny California to go to Public High School #259.
That is, till stuff went down with the gang he was in. He then needed to transfer to a school called PHS #42, he didn't leave a post it note this time, he told her in person and asked her to go with him. To which her response was no. She went to Venice to be with her family for a bit, until Matrim told her of his betrayal and his affair with Sara Quinn. Upon hearing this she decided to come to PHS 42, most likely to get her feelings off of her chest in person. Then, after much fighting the two ended up back together, getting married finally and even having a baby boy.
Matrim was definitely excited for the kid, but there were complications in childbirth and Reira was killed. Matrim was devastated by this, and still hasn't quite gotten over the fact that something so simple could kill Reira. In the end though, he had his son Shayne Tristan Gallagher, and was raising him. He considered leaving school for good, but some part of him he couldn't let go of clung onto the hopes of another fight, one like the ones he used to have with Leon. A fight in which he had little to no chance of winning. Something to show that he still needed improvement.
Matrim also found himself disgusted with some of his acts, and at the same time he couldn't help but feel completely guilt free at times. Sara Quinn... an attempt of raping her, an affair with her, constantly fighting, and yet... some part of him couldn't tear himself away from her. Not even if he wanted to. He decided he'd leave her a message saying where he was going and why, the note simply read...
Sara, going back to 259. There's a challenge there, a fight challenge that I have to take up. I hope you understand I had to go right away....
wanna come with?
~Matrim~
And so Matrim was about to set off, when he got the thing he had been desiring most, the Dragon Title awarded by Linda, the Bone Dragon. Matrim took the title, and decided it was time to head back to 259, his real test. After all, at 42 he may have been big stuff, but he still had yet to make a mark on 259 aside from getting Varsity Captain for a short time.
It was time to go back.... and make sure everyone feared and respected the Infernal Dragon.
And that was his plan, Infernal and Bone wreaking havoc. But he found that Gabriel had been titled Nova, and that he couldn't stand for. So he threw Nova from his thrown, taking him out in a warehouse. Letting Nova use his own strength to cause his own fall. Hell, not too long after he witnessed Nova give up his title completely. As far as Matrim is concerned, Nova is gone. All that remains is Gabriel. And though he had heard rumors of his death, he let that be rumors.
During the time he came back he managed to convince Sara to come stay with him. The place she was staying wasn't all that great, and Matrim may or may not have burned it to the ground. In the end she came to stay with him, and they even saw each other. Before long she got used to the idea of it all, living with him, even going out with him. And there first date proved memorable. They went to an underground fighting ring in which Sara was shot, and they along with Zeek Van Buren brought down the owner as well as a ticked off crime boss.
Since then Matrim had challenged a few of the stronger fighters of 259. He challenged Emily for the title of School Captain, and beat her for the first time since their last fight in which she managed to knock him out. The battle was shortlived however, as he proved to be quite the challenge for her. Having won the title, he named Sara Quinn his Student Body President, Mitsukai Shinoda his Varsity Captain, and Kevala Asataku.
After dating for some time, Matrim ended up proposing to Sara and with a yes from her they were engaged. After a drunken trip to the mall, the two ended up married and woke up in Vegas with little to no recollection of the night. The only clues to what happened were in a security tape left for them, which they watched. And then destroyed, vowing never to tell anyone what truly happened.
Currently the two are together with Gale and Shayne, who is being raised with Sara as his true mother. She has give up her title for reasons unknown to him, and the two are unaware that an enemy from the past has managed to slither from the ash to get vengeance.
